Chapter Thirty-Six: The Return

I had never hit anyone in my life, and now all I could do was stand there and watch Keith writhe in agony. It amazed me how he had gone from scaring the life out of me to seemingly unthreatening all at once. As soon as he was bleeding and crying, Keith seemed just as weak and helpless as I had felt. Just when I felt the victory of defeating Keith, he seemed to compose himself enough to look me straight in the face.

The handsome mask was peeled back, and the monster that I had always suspected to be there. Blood still dripped from his crooked nose as his disgusting eyes narrowed on me. Every nasty, violent thought that he'd ever had about me shined in those eyes.

Fearful, I took a step back, trying to keep myself out of his reach. But he kept coming towards me.

"You... fucking... BITCH!" Keith shouted, then drew his hand back and brought it down across my face before I could move.
