I had no words to respond to the madness that was in Josuan’s head. I cursed the day that my father ever heard of the Boksteins. My mouth went dry as I thought of what Josuan planned to do with my child. There was no way I could let that happen.
I tried desperately to find the right words to reach Josuan. But, I knew it was hopeless.
“Why do you want a shifter as a weapon?”
“To fight shifters, of course. I tried to use desperate rogues but it turns out they are no match for a true Alpha and his pack. But if I can raise one…”
I suffered a wave of nausea imagining him trying to raise my child to become a weapon against shifters. And I wanted to cry.
A chorus of growls and howls rang out beyond the opening of the cave.
“If we can raise the Alpha’s baby together…” He turned his eyes on me full force and I could feel the full horror of whatever madness was playing out inside of his head.
“The Alpha’s baby could amass a shifter army that would fight for me.”
