Chapter 35: Blending In

What the h*ll? Out of everyone in their organization, they couldn’t find someone other than Chandler? Someone who wasn’t so obvious and blended in a little more? I kept myself as hidden as I could, using the shadow to my advantage while making sure to always have an eye on Tyler and his hands.

Their lips moved, and every so often, they’d let out a chuckle followed by Chandler playfully hitting Tyler’s shoulder. My eyes squinted against the reflection of the sun off the pavement, and I leaned on the table so I could get a little closer without totally revealing myself. From here, it didn’t look like he was on business, or like he was even searching for me. Instead, he appeared like any other local in Crete in Lion’s Square that day, blending in seamlessly with his environment. Then again, that was his profession—and if I learned anything about Creatine, these men were well-trained in the art of deception.
