I don’t know. Was I? Could anyone ever really be ready to be on the run on an island they weren’t familiar with, alongside a man who had lied to them about truthfully, just about everything? The right answer is no—but I was also kind of excited to be doing something so out of my comfort zone. Usually, this type of thing would freak me the f*ck out. Who am I kidding? It’d freak anyone out. Only there was something about it that was exhilarating at the same time. Call me crazy, but it was thrilling not knowing what was going to happen next.
I followed Tyler through the alleys of the square, still clutching his hand as he occasionally looked in all directions, including behind us, to ensure that we were not being trailed or spotted.
