" You are all you have got, don't compromise on yourself "
The sun rose today to perform the Holy ritual. The ceremony of rebirth, not death. The rays of the sun obeyed and surrounded the nest of Phoenix and lit it up. The fire rose and the flames touched the highest heights. It was loud and noisy. Heat embraced the air and fire danced elegantly. It was exquisite to see fire on fire. Fire destroys everything. Engulfs everything that comes in the way. Touches every living being and takes its soul. But the fire is also the creator. The creator of Phoenix.
Soon the nest presented the view of ashes. Smoke was everywhere to be seen. And silence prevailed in the atmosphere. It was quiet. It was peaceful. It was proof that chaos isn't the symbol of ending but it's the symbol of beginning.
Life was created there amid death. A newborn Phoenix. Small, fragile yet brave enough to rise from the ashes. To keep the remains of its predecessor The new Phoenix creates a creation egg. For that purpose, it flies off and begins to gather the finest myrrh it can find to form a ball. It gathers as much as it can and flies back to the nest it emerged from. Once back at its nest the Phoenix begins to hollow out the egg of myrrh and creates a small opening on the side so that it can begin to put its predecessor's ashes inside. Once it has collected all the ashes of the old Phoenix, it seals the opening in the cremation egg with myrrh and takes it back to Heliopolis. It leaves the remains on top of an altar in a temple and then begins its new life.
They say Phoenix will rise from the ashes after her rebirth. The rebirth that the God of the Sun witnessed. The process of rebirth is eternal. It will happen every time. It will happen elegantly. And no one can deny the immortality of Phoenix. She is invincible. She is a force of the universe created for the greater good. The good that is hidden underneath the sheets of darkness. Darkness can control anyone. Anyone scared will give in to the darkness and it will pull him in completely. But you know what is more frightening than darkness?
Phoenix
(Inside the view of Violet's house )
Every night she slept, she hoped to not wake up again.
Every day she survived with her all strength. And every night she wanted to never see the sun again.
But life is the name of moving. It's better when you are moving forward. And it's scarier when you are moving backwards. It's up to you to choose where you wanna go.
" So where do I wanna go?" she asked herself this question every morning.
" Just go where you don't feel stuck. " her heart always replied.
That's how she woke up today. People usually feel energised but that was not the case with her.
" Maybe I should clean my room today, it's so messy I can't even walk. How do you live in this mess don't you breathe toxicity in your every breath? " she lectured herself.
So, after waking up at 8 o'clock, she had breakfast, washed the dishes, cleaned her room, and dusted it until it was spick and span. Then she felt sat on the floor, staring into the air. Cleaning felt like catharsis. But it also reminded her of all the baggage on her mind that needed to go into the trash too. It's not too early, isn't it?
Her cell phone rang, it was a text and she saw it was an unknown number. She picked up the phone with a confused expression on her face.
"Who's this? " Violet talked to herself in a flat tone.
" Good day!
This is a message delivered to you at the command of the University's Director.
The university has decided to arrange the convocation. The venue and date are decided and it is next month's first week in BJ Hall. All the students are invited, make sure you are there to attend. Professors, Students and Director will all have an enormous dinner together with a concluding speech from The Director.
Regards: Administration department "
" Oh, so the convocation is coming up. Everybody would be there. It will be nice to see them all again. But am I ready to see them all again? she whispered to herself.
At this point in my life, I don't want to meet anyone from my golden days, what will I say to them, how will I introduce myself to them and how will they react to my condition, will they judge me? she reckoned.
" Violet! Violet! , are you done cleaning? Violet's mother called her. "Let's go to the market, I have to buy some necessary things, we'll be back in no time, just get dressed quickly, I'll tell your brother to get the car out," she said.
Violet came out of the room and without saying anything she gave her a bear hug. " Okay, as you say".
" When will you grow up, always acting like a child, hugging and clinging to me? What will you do when I'm not here? Don't love me like this, you will miss it later. " her mother scolded her in a motherly way.
" Okay, one last hug, please, Mom", Violet replied and gave her mother a tight hug and then left her to get dressed up.
Violet's brother dropped them off at a mall and both of them went in there. Her mother saw many different things, chose a few and then repeated them. She always liked to buy the finest of things even though she had to search twice. That's just what she was. A perfectionist always looking for perfection.
After a lot of looking, searching, scanning and walking Violet's mother bought the best things and came towards the counter to pay the bill. After paying the bill, both of them came out it was dark outside. Time flew rapidly. They waited outside for their car to come. Her mother's phone rang, she attended the call and started congratulating the person on the other side. Maybe someone told her a piece of good news, Violet guessed. Standing at the entrance of the parking Violet looked around to see the crowd of people coming and going. People are living like there is no tomorrow. Nobody has worry written on their faces. Everybody is putting on the best face. Maybe because they don't have any worries or maybe because they hide it so well. She was thinking about the expiration date of happiness. They say money can buy happiness. But they didn't tell if money can buy life. Without life who will be happy? She mulled.
She was so deep in thought that she didn't hear the sound of the car coming towards her. The tyres of the car screeched while trying to apply the brake but didn't do it on time. And the car hit Violet leaving her unconscious on the floor blood flowing out of her head. Laying there unconscious she saw an orange colour floating in front of her eyes. And someone's warm hand touched her cold body, that's the last thing she remembered until she fainted.
