The matches didn't take too long to end. Most matches went as everyone expected, except the match between Yewan Meiling and Hector Schmitt. Hector wasn't the fastest child, and he was still not in his best form after being defeated by Guihu Luixing.
In these conditions, Hector was not able to chase Meiling, and ended up being a punching for the ghosts. This once again showed just how high her proficiency in manipulation of ghosts.
"That's all for today." Said Niko "Remember what you saw and experienced today in your and your classmates battles. It'll surely prove useful in moving forward."
Seeing everyone nodding he ended the class "Dismissed!"
"Brother Schmitt! Wait a minute!"Guihu Luixing immediately stopped Hector from leaving.
"Brother Guihu? Is something wrong?" asked Hector.
"Brother Schmitt, are you perchance also trying to participate in the competition next month?"
The question clearly surprised Hector.
"Also? Does this mean Brother Guihu is aiming for participating in the competition too?"
"Yes. I want to participate. I was thinking of sparring every day, so we can advance faster."
Hector's eyes lit up with the offer.
"Awesome! I already spar with my older brothers, but our levels are too different, they have to hold back too much, and end up not pressuring me enough. But as our levels are really close, we have to truly put our skills to the test. That strategy you used earlier, for exemple, my brothers would never thought of that, as they don't need to use these kinds of strategies in a spar against me."
Guihu Luixing nodded "So ,what do you say? Do you agree?"
"Of course, Brother Guihu! Let's give our best!"
After that they ironed the details like the place and time, before leaving.
On his way back from the Direct Disciple courtyard, Guihu Luixing kept using his Fate Agent Eyes on everyone.
What he found out was that his class was irregular. Most people were [Regulars], with some showing a very minor possibility of becoming a pillar.
Ghosts and zombies seemed to be hated by fate, as he found none to be anything but a [Regular]. They didn't even have the traces of other categories like humans and beasts had.
[Pillars] seemed to be fairly rare. Other than the children in his group, he found only two others. Both were humans, and their "color" was very bland, showing that they wouldn't be very useful as [Pillars].
While he was looking at one person after another, naturally people came and went by where he was at.
Suddenly one of the people shined a different color. It was vivid and brilliant, but that person at the moment seemed to feel something and turned his head to look right in Guihu Luixing's direction. Their eyes met.
"Oh. Little Brother Luixing, it's you."
"Hello, Senior Brother Roan."
The young man was Roan Rockfield, one of the most brilliant disciples the sect had. He climbed to the position of a core disciple from a lowly outer disciple. Guihu Luixing's father introduced eaxh other some time ago, after he completed an important task to the sect, which earned him a great amount of recognition.
"What are you doing, Little Brother Luixing?" asked Roan.
"Oh, I just had some sparring done and was taking a break here before returning home to continue cultivation."
Guihu Luixing obviously wouldn't say he was using his special eye technique to look at him.
"I see... Little Brother Luixing started proper cultivation in about a week and is already a Peak Phase Qi Interaction Realm right? You have a lot of talent." said Roan while smiling.
Roan was always smiling. Everyone thought of him as a sunny boy who had the looks, talent and resources to make it big in cultivation. Roan was expected to become a main asset to the sect and many elders thought of him positively.
After some small talk, Roan went back to his business while Guihu Luixing went back home sweating.
Roan's soul indicated he was a [Fated], however, he was gradually becoming a [Pillar]. That itself was of no importance, to Guihu Luixing there could be methods to help Roan retain his status as a [Fated], helping him in winning the prize on the upcoming tournament for example.
The problem was with the color of the soul.
His soul was a nasty tone of red, clearly showing his destructive tendencies, that led to death and destruction. This was one of the reasons Fate was demoting him to a [Pillar]. His true nature would be found out and he would serve to spur the growth of a [Fated] who would eventually defeat him.
The problem was that Roan was expanding his influence and it was already deep in the sect. Many elders thought highly of him, allowing him to obtain many resources quite easily.
If he was to do a takeover of the sect, to be defeated by a someone from the the inside or the outside, wouldn't the other sects take the advantage of this and rob everything in the Ghost Fox Valley Sect? Guihu Luixing's position that was already looking not favourable became even more unfavorable.
As a five year old that just started cultivation and had the need to grow into one of the most powerful existences the universe has ever seen, becoming an survivor of a destroyed sect, wouldn't exactly help him.
At least Roan's transition to a [Pillar] seemed yo be mostly done. This would greatly diminish and limit the mess he would create in the surroundings.
After collecting himself, Guihu Luixing realised he hadnymu h to fear and do in this situation. Roan's cultivation was far above his own, and even if Roan rebelled the next day, it wouldn't be his turn to do something.
Power. He needed more power. Power enough to instantly remove these dangers that sprouted in his surroundings.
His thoughts were interrupted by a familiar sound.
*Piron*
[You completed the Mission N. 5 Use the Fate Agent Eyes. Primordial Soul Mantra recieved.]
A headache suddenly attacked Guihu Luixing, luckily, the headache passed after some moments.
"Primordial Soul Mantra..."
It was slightly familiar. Guihu Luixing soon remembered the dark pillar he saw in the illusion thanks to the sectmaster's array. It was similar, but much more deep and complete.
It was a Soul-type cultivation that served to cultivate both one's own soul, but also others. It contained every secret of the illusory existence of souls. Guihu Luixing felt that the obelisk had only a fraction of the Primordial Soul Mantra.
Soul Cultivation was very rare, because cultivation of souls was very dangerous, incomparably painful and unbelievably expensive.
Dangerous because any mistake could irreversibly twist one's mind or even outright kill them. Painful because the soul was very sensitive, so most method caused severe painful reactions from the soul. Expensive because it usually require very rare Heavenly Treasures in order to further refine one's soul.
From what Guihu Luixing could see, this method was no different. What was different was the amount of power one would get from the mantra.
According to the mantra, if one successfully cultivated all the methods in it to perfection, there was no way any soul in existence could stand against him.
'System is this true?'
[Host, do you believe the system would make up some silly cultivation manual to trick you?]
'...'
Guihu Luixing made his eay home in order to test the new cultivation manual.
