Curiosity

Calvin didn't feel anything from his recent level up. He decided to look into it later after he leaves outside.

He thanked the receptionist and headed outside before looking for a spot to sat on. Once he found one, he sat down and opened up his status.

"Huh? So there's no bonus stats per level up. I only get attribute points and possibly skill points per level. That's boring. Though to begin with, it looks like what Narasha said is becoming more and more true? That doesn't sound right at all but meh." Calvin stared at his status and he now believe Narasha even more.

In other games that he played, there were always some bonus aside from the attribute points you can assign yourself. But in here it doesn't look like it. The only real benefit of leveling up is a meager 5 attribute points and a skill point every 3 level ups. Compared to others, it does really seam lackluster.

And from saw in the information of his sicklr, the equipments in this game most likely doesn't have a level requirement. Only attributes requirements.

This only confirms Narasha's words that level truly does not matter that much in this game. He guessed that leveling up is just one of the minor way to help and get stronger.

Well in the early stages, this is probably the fastest and surefire way of getting stronger. But on the late game? The bonus it provides will practically be negligible.

He can already foresee the future of many players screaming in frustration because they waste their time focusing on solely leveling up while neglecting the other aspects that were more important in getting stronger.

Thinking about Narasha, gratitude and happiness appeared in his heart and he made a note to himself to treat her to something when they meet again.

He shook his head and set it aside for now. For now, he'll set more focus on leveling up, learning skills and getting more attributes since its still early game.

He turned his focus back on his status and started thinking on what to do with his attribute points.

"Hmm leaving it now is probably pointless since 5 points can be a big help now. I might be able to grind higher leveled monsters so its better if I use it now. But on what though?" Calvin started thinking hard.

After thinking, he thought of two choices. Either increase his strength, agility, and vitality by 2, 1, 2 or increase all of his stats by 1 and see for himself the changes in his body.

The reason why he thought of the second choice is because he was curious. When he got the attributes increase from his agility from his skill Nimble Body, his endurance and vitality he felt the immediate change in his body. He wants to feel that feeling again so he can have an idea on how to increase said attributes by his own in the future.

Sure he can search the Internet, but it doesn't hurt to learn more does it.

And so after thinking long and hard, he chose option two. If he will regret in the future then so be it. There's nothing fun in not learning anyways so he deemed it to be a fun learning experience.

Calvin used his attribute points and add 1 each to vitality, endurance, strength, agility and intelligence.

Everytime he adds one point to his attributes he felt the changes in his body.

For vitality, it felt like his body turned more tougher.

For endurance, he felt more energetic and livelier.

For strength, he felt his body warm up and then he could feel his strength go higher.

For agility, he felt more flexible and faster.

For intelligence, he felt the increase more clearly. His mind became sharper and clearer and felt more mana filling his body up.

When you first look at it, it might seem useless since it was obvious thats what would happen. But in truth, that was only the surface and the effect it provided.

The actual process of it is what actually surpised Calvin. Since he can sense his mana he can now sense a lot of new things.

Everytime he used his attribute points, it felt like an energy much more pure than his mana entered his body out of nowhere and goes to various part of him and changed his body accordingly. It was hard to put into words how he actually felt.

That's why he felt surprised and happy that he learned more thing and felt proud of himself that he learned how to sense his own mana. If not for that, he wouldn't be able to learn of this fact.

Because of what he learned, he decided to try and replicate it when he can do so. That was his main goal from the start.

But for now, he is satisfied of what he got and that made him smile from happiness.

"Now what should I do? Hmm..." After he was done with his attribute points, Calvin started thinking on what else he needed to do.

He checked his status to try and see if he could do something else.

"Ohh yeah that's right. Narasha said I could get a profession early in the game as well. I should do that and while on my way I guess I'll explore the village as well." Calvin thought with an excited smile.

With a new goal in his mind, he stood up and started exploring the village.
