CHAPTER FIVE: MADEMOISELLE JACQUELINE.

Mr Weeks and Maya both sat opposite each other in a cafe.

"Do you like to order anything, sir?" The waiter asked Mr Weeks. Mr Weeks turned to Maya,

"Nah, I'm good," Maya replied.

The waiter left and Mr Weeks and Maya got talking,

"Thank you for winning the competition." Me Weeks said to Maya holding her hands and rubbing them.

Maya removed her hands from Mr Weeks, and she said,

"Thank you for hosting the competition." They both laughed.

"You have a beautiful voice." Mr Weeks said

"Sir, why am I here?" Maya asked.

"Don't call me sir, call me Wayne."

"Okay, Mr Wayne,"

"Nope, just Wayne." He said as he smiled at her.

"How come I've never seen you around. Are you from around here?"

"So you know everybody huh?" Maya asked smirking.

"This is my city." Mr Weeks said smiling at her.

It was getting dark and Maya needed to go back to her motel. She told Mr Weeks that she needed to go, but he insisted she stayed a little longer. She refused, she got on her feet, ready to leave the cafe.

"Can I at least get your number?" Mr Weeks asked.

"I'm sorry, I don't give my number to strangers," Maya said as she left the cafe.

Mr Weeks was interested in Maya, she was everything his wife was. He hit the table hard. He was furious, he removed the paper Flora's number was from his pocket and texted her,

Hey, sexy.

Flora received the message late that night. She did not want her husband to see her texting at that time of the day because he had trust issues. She was on the bed with her husband, she quietly got up from their bed to check what the message was about. She saw it was an unknown number until she opened the message. She instantly knew it was Mr Weeks, her plan was working. She replied,

Quelle soir. Meaning what an evening.

GOGO MOTELS

Maya fell to her bed exhausted. She looked at the 10,000-dollar cheque beside her and squealed. She knew she deserved the money she had just earned. She was happier that she did it purely. She quickly got her phone and dialled her brother's number,

"Brother! I won, I won!" Maya said excitedly.

"Won what? Sister, calm down and explain." John said.

"10,000 dollars," Maya replied

"Oh my God," John couldn't believe what his sister had just said, he called his mum and his junior sister, "mother, Diane. Maya's got hold news."

Maya's mother and junior sister leapt for joy as they heard the amount of money Maya won.

"How did you get that amount of money Maya?" Her mother asked.

"A singing competition, held by a billionaire, Mr Weeks. I also got to perform during his launching ceremony" Maya replied.

Maya's mother was overjoyed. "My daughter, thank you so much. I believe you can do more to get the money we need for your father."

"Is the billionaire your friend?" Diane asked Maya.

"No, he's not." Maya laughed. "Don't worry mom, I'll look for more ways to make the money dad needs for his treatment."

"Why not ask the billionaire guy to give you a job?" John asked.

"I can't, I'm very sure of that. All the high-class jobs in the city require CVS or resumes and I have none." Maya sighed.

"So how do you plan on making more money?" Diane asked.

"I don't know, all I can say is I'll try my best. We would treat dad mum. I promise." Maya said as she ended the call.

She lay on her bed thinking about how she would make the extra money needed for her dad's treatment. She thought about what Mr Weeks suggested,

"Can I at least get your number?" She recalled him saying. She thought to herself, why would a billionaire want her number, except he is just a sex addict who thinks because he has all the power in the world, that he could sleep with women like her. She hoped she was wrong because she decided to visit him at his office the next day,

AT NUTRI LTD

The telephone on Mr Weeks desk rang, he took it and he answered. The lady behind the phone said that a lady by the name of Maya Hunts was looking for him. He told them to let her in. Shortly, she knocked on his door and she entered,

"Maya," Mr Weeks said with a smile as he adjusted his trousers.

"Good morning, Mr Weeks," Maya said. Maya was dressed corporately, in a tight dress which displayed how beautifully figured she was. Mr Weeks couldn't stop sexualizing her,

"You look ravishing as always Maya." He said to her.

He asked her to take a seat, and she did.

"So, why are you here?" He asked her.

"Sir, I know I have no right and I might probably sound like a bitch right now but, I was looking for job opportunities. I don't know if there's any vacant position here at" Mr Weeks didn't let Maya complete her statement, he immediately told her No.

Maya did not expect more from Mr Weeks. She saw this coming, tears filled her eyes but she held them back,

"Look Maya Hunts, I'm not fucking Santa Claus, I don't do fucking charity work here okay? If you're looking for a job, go find somewhere else. This is the wrong building."

"You're right Sir, I made a mistake." Maya immediately left Mr Weeks office, she was crying hitting her head, and calling herself all sorts of names when she bumped into Deryn. Deryn spilt his cup of coffee over his off-white suits.

"Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry sir," Maya said trying to clean his shirt, when he rose his head up, he saw that it was Maya. Be immediately told her to stop, that it was okay. He looked at her and asked her why she was crying,

"It's nothing Deryn." She said looking away. Deryn held her by her arms, he told her to look at him, and she did.

"What happened?"

"Can we not talk here?" Maya asked Deryn while she kept on sniffing.

Deryn agreed, and they both left for a restaurant beside the company.

"Now, why were you in my dad's office and most importantly why are you crying?" Deryn stressed.

"My name is Maya Hunts, I am a 24-year-old with no job, I participated in your father's competition because I needed the money for something urgent," Maya said sorrowfully.

"What's the urgent situation?" Deryn asked.

"I can't tell you Deryn, please just trust me. I went to your dad's office to ask for a job, which was the stupidest thing I have ever done, a fucking decision that I would never make ever again." Maya said.

"He told you no?" Deryn asked.

"A No would have just been better, but he said and I quote, he's not fucking Santa Claus. And that I'm in the wrong building." Maya ranted.

"Typical Wayne Weeks. Do you know something shocking about him? He was never this way before." Deryn said.

"Don't tell me he was worse!" Maya chuckled.

"No, he was the nicest guy on the planet. When my mom died he changed drastically. I couldn't even run the company alongside him, I had to go abroad to work. He was so mean and angry all the time." Deryn said.

"You lost your mom? I'm so sorry about that." Maya said to Deryn.

"It's the past. My mom was everything to him. She always made him smile, she was the key to his happiness. After she died, a whole new person possessed my dad. I remember I'd always come he to meet him fraternizing with prostitutes. He couldn't control himself, he was crazy." Deryn said.

"What killed her?" Maya asked.

"An accident," Deryn said.

DERYN'S MOTHER'S DEATH.

Mrs Jacqueline was driving through the rain, her windshield wiped the rain off her windscreen. She turned back and looked at the 18-year-old boy at the back of her seat. The 18-year-old boy was Deryn, her and Mr Weeks child.

"How was college Deryn, you're ready to go back tomorrow right?" His mum asked. She had an accented voice, she was a french woman.

"It was good, I made a new friend," Deryn said.

Jacqueline was trying to focus on the road and at the same time talk to her son,

"Boy or girl?" His mother asked.

"Girl, she's nice. Her name's Harriet. She's beautiful too." Deryn said.

"So you're gonna marry her?" His mom said laughing.

"Mom can you be serious for once in your life," Deryn said as he laughed hysterically.

The rain began to worsen, "I can't see anything, this rain, it's not just the time." Jacqueline said. She tried to take a turn, but she didn't see that an oncoming truck filled with fuel was directly coming their way, she took the turn and they both collided. People around heard the massive sound the collision made and they came out to help the victims. Both cars were badly smashed, someone saw that a teenager was inside the car,

"There's a kid in this one! Help me get him out!" The person cried out. They helped him burgle Jacqueline's car and they saved him, they saw he was Deryn the son of Mr Weeks. So they quickly took him to the shelter. Deryn regained full consciousness and screamed mom! Repeatedly, they asked him what was going on, and he screamed,

"My mom is in there!"

They went outside to help Jacqueline, but it was too late, both the truck and her car blew up. Deryn watched his mom's car burn. She screamed,

"Mom!!!!!!!!!!!"
