9. Dog shit luck is an understatement.

While the whole world was enjoying and singing happily about In-Game Online, a certain someone was pissed off.

"Eight hours"

Neel mumbled as all of his motivation was thrown into the trash, he was getting extremely tired and frustrated.

He was walking for Eight hours and the problem was he was getting low on water.

It was a desert, he was feeling like a chicken in the oven.

"Eight Fucking hours, EIGHT FUCKINGGGG HOURS!!! Just what's wrong with my luck today!!!! Dog Shit LUCK??? No That is an understatement!!! Just how much am I supposed to suffer??"

He first rants about the day, then players and the elder, and then finally the game as a whole.

"FINE! If this game wants to play the hard way I am ready, now until I find someone or something I won't fucking leave this game, come forth you piece shit!"

He accepted the challenge!

That's how a protagonist should be!

Right as if taking a cue he saw a structure that looked like a resting point. It was a statue of an old person with a long beard, wearing robes, holding a book in his left hand and pointing his right hand toward the sun.

After reaching near the statue Neel left a long sigh.

"haa…finally there is someplace to rest."

After walking in the desert from morning to evening he was done for today. To his surprise, he didn't face any hostile beast but was left with fatigue as he walked without taking any break.

"Hm?"

It was at this moment he noticed that he was not alone there, but an old man who looked the same as the statue.

"Boy… did you walk in this dessert for eight hours without break? Really?"

The old man asked, doubting how was this even possible?

'This desert is ranked S rank and this boy is unranked, not only that but he walked in this temperature? For Eight hours? Impossible!!'

"Um…Yes… I was teleported in the middle of this dessert and was just trying to find someone… Elder, may I know where exactly I am and help me find a way out of this desert?"

"Huh?"

'This boy wants to leave!!! Cultivators and Adventurers are crazy to get here know, boy?!!'

The Old man cried inwardly.

'Even though he has no cultivation why am I sweating every time I look into his eyes?'

The Old man had many questions just like Neel, so he decided to be a little Civil and first started analyzing the person in front of him.

'Hmm… White hair a little gray maybe? azure eyes, handsome and young, no rank, no cultivation base, no beast bloodline, a normal human?'

'No. A mere human can never cross the Myriad Mirage and come here to seek my master's legacy. The temperature itself should be enough to melt a human let alone those Rank S beasts. But his clothes only have stains of sweat and the sword hanging there also looks not used. Then how?'

"Hm?"

It was at this moment the old man had an idea.

'Let me use my divine sense-.'

Abruptly stopping his thoughts he used his divine senses and the next moment cold sweat started gathering on his forehead and a chill ran down his spine.

Noticing the old man's intense gaze Neel frowned, as a stranger should not stare so intensely it is rude behavior. So he cleared his throat so that the man in front of him can wake up from his stupor.

"kehum… Elder, I think it is rude to stare at someone who is a stranger at least introduce yourself."

Although he was polite, his tone was that of an order.

"Ah! Where are my manners? Sorry young one. Let me start with the introductions first. I am Zou, you can call me Elder Zou."

"Nice to meet you elder Zou I am Neel, can you please tell me where I am and how I get out of this dessert?"

"Ah! Sure, so you see you are at the moment in a desert domain called 'Myriad Mirage' in the Central continent, this place was created so that a person can reach here at this statue, and ask me a wish."

'So I was sent to a quest all along?'

Neel felt somewhat happy that the game was not completely against him.

He was not playing at difficulty impossible!

"So tell me young one what do you seek?"

'Maybe this is the way of NPC to give me some special quest or something?'

Neel pondered for a bit and answered.

"Power and adventure are the two things I seek elder!"

Neel answered after carefully considering all possibilities.

"P-power? Are you sure?"

'DO WANT MORE POWER!!!!?? Are you kidding me or something?'

The Old man Zou wanted to beat the brat in front of him or at least give him a smack or two.

The adventure was understandable but even more power than what he already has?

Did he want to pick a fight with the Emperor of Gods or something?

But what could the old man do?

"W-well since you completed this quest which the strongest among the strong were not able to do it is your right to demand."

"But you see I have only this that can somehow fulfill what you are seeking."

"Although I would have given you the quest to complete my master's legacy, it may be useless for you."

After scratching through the book he had, he took out a few items.

"These things might help you, these things were given to me by my master who told me to give this to someone worthy of this, you are the first person to arrive here after thousands of years so you deserve it."

He retrieved three things from his book, first a slip, a black box, and a vial that contained some transparent liquid, and gave it to Neel.

"Follow the direction pointed by this statue and after a hundred meters or so you will see a shed where you should make your camp and do whatever the task is written in this slip."

Neel took the things from the elder put them inside his inventory and after thanking the elder made his way towards the place the elder recommended.

Looking at the young man's leaving figure the Elder let out a deep sigh.

"haa…. How long has it been since I apologized to someone? Not to mention who hasn't even reached one-tenth of my age."

"But my dear lord… that scene… 100 talismans huh? Just what monster was that boy? Who was he?"

"Deep blue eyes and…. Moon…..hm?"

"No! it can't be…. I should get in touch with Master Immediately!"

Saying those words the Old man immediately left.
