10. I’ve Never Felt this Fear…

[Zou's POV]

My name is Zou,

I was brought to the slave market at the age of five, as for the memories you asked?

Those were cleared with magic so that I will be able to serve that family's young miss.

All of my emotions and memories were cleared by that magic so that I will always stay loyal.

It was quite gruesome.

Before serving young miss I had to go through training, and that was the first time I felt it.

'Fear' that is. They first tortured me then healed me and then again tortured me, this cycle repeated until my eyes lost their color and shine.

They made me an emotionless doll, who will not feel anything even pain.

The menu of the torture was such high that even a world-class delicacy won't be able to compete.

Drugs, potions, rotten stake, each and everything considered gruesome were fed to me.

That was the second time I felt it.

'Fear' that is.

The third stage of preparing a perfect doll was even gruesome. That was to torture the upcoming stars!!

Hear their screams, feel their pain, and make them hollow from inside, corrupt their innocence.

And most importantly, remember your days when you were in their shoes and pray for those to never meet the fate they met with.

That was the third time I felt it.

'Fear' that is.

'My master…'

Although I was thrown into this infinite cycle of darkness she was the only source of light for me.

She cared about me, she made me feel the emotions once again and helped this doll to turn into a human once again.

She is the incarnation of hope itself….

She helped me to overcome it.

'Fear' that is.

I lived a happy life under my master's care and when she told me to pass her legacy I was reluctant and tried to protest… because it meant she will leave this world and go for her next journey living me behind… alone…

And the mere thought of being away from my master made me feel it, again.

'Fear' that is.

In the end, I convinced her that if I found the correct candidate for her legacy, I will use my once-in-a-lifetime teleportation and reach her…

Which indirectly meant that she cannot leave me in this world alone and go to the afterlife…

I was a sly fox after all… I knew how to bargain!!

And then I waited… and waited… and waited.

However, the people on this planet were too much incompetent. They were unable to cross the desert borders of the central continent let alone the 'Myriad Mirage'.

I was simply too bored and tired of waiting… My cultivation also rusted as I waited in the desert for too many years…

I was on verge of death because of boredom but then 'he' came!

That Monster!

I was seriously surprised when I saw an unranked youngster cross Myriad Mirage akin to taking a troll in the park.

It made me furious.

Where was he all these years!?

I would have visited my master a few years earlier and would have served her for some more years you know!!

I tried to size that monster.

This place is rank S so he must be someone super strong who will continue my master's legacy is what I thought and in my arrogance, I did something that I regret doing.

I absolutely regret it! It made me feel 'it' again.

But this time hundreds if not thousands of fold.

'Fear' that is.

I tried using my 'divine senses' a vision type that we, those who have broken through the shackles of mortality can use to gauge things that are not visible to the mortal eyes. And looked deep into his azure eyes.

And it was at this moment I knew, I fucked up!

The moment I used Divine Senses the time stopped and the world around me turned dark, completely dark… a few seconds after this happened I saw something unbelievable.

I found myself in space, there were countless stars around me, countless planets and galaxies were moving and I was able to feel it. I was amazed and I looked curiously, as a child.

Then I noticed something weird, and that was… the land below me was white!! It means I was standing on the MOON!!

But the problem was not the moon but what appeared next to it.

It was a sight I can never forget.

Perfect 100 rectangular papers were bound to some sort of rope and were moving around something. As if they were planets revolving around the sun those papers kept revolving. There were some mythical runes placed on them.

If I were to be a normal cultivator I wouldn't have understood the scene in front of me but my dog shit luck!

I knew what were those.

'Talisman…H-h-…hundred?!'

My eyes shot wide.

This was far beyond fear.

Those talismans were not normal, those were binding talismans.

A monster having a binding talisman was considered to be a mortal threat to anyone facing it! Even gods!

And this boy was binding something with 100 talismans!!

The something in the middle looked like a humanoid figure to me. It had its eyes closed and sitting in the lotus position with its hands resting on its knees fingers pointing towards the ground.

[Third person POV]

The figure had jade white skin, smooth and peerless, after looking at it carefully it looked similar to the boy. In fact, it was the boy himself!!!

The moment that figure sensed that an intruder has invaded its private space the figure opened its eyes. Its eyebrows slightly knit, showing the displeasure openly on its face, and the eyes of the figure started glowing blue.

Deep ocean blue eyes stared at the old man, the talismans started shaking violently and stopped only when the figure looked into the eyes of the old man and said one word with a cold, indifferent and scary voice.

"Leave."

The next moment chills ran down the old man's spine and he found himself once again in the desert. He started sweating profoundly.

[Zou's POV]

I've never felt this amount of…

'Fear' that is.

This fear was something that is engraved in my soul.

And that's why I gave him something that will be useful for him to control that monster inside him.

My master's legacy was literally, useless for him…

So I think I should hurry and meet my master immediately to ask her what I should do next…

After that being said Zou used his once-in-a-lifetime-teleportation and went to meet his master.
