8 CONFUSED

Prince Gen and his father got home, but when prince Gen dropped from his horse, he couldn't wait for his father to drop from his caravan. Prince Gen walked to the king's court and sat on one of the seats. He waited for his father to come over, and when king Wang Lei came in, he sat on his throne.

King Wang Lei stared at his son for a few moments. He saw the anger in prince Gen's face like a lion that was looking for someone to devour. They both sat quietly for a moment before prince Gen then broke the silence.

"Father, what was the reason for the agreement between you and King Dingbang? Because I don't understand what is going on. I can't believe that king Dingbang didn't tell the princess about the agreement, yet the king went ahead to arrange a wedding without informing her, and I don't think this is the right father.

Tell me why that agreement was made." Princess Gen demanded with a serious tone. King Wang Lei sat, as he stared at his son who was asking him questions you wouldn't want to answer but he saw the curiosity in Prince Gen's eyes. King Wang Lei had no other option than to reply to him.

"I thought we had talked about this. Haven't we?" King Wang Lei said.

"Father, you've told me that you made an agreement. Yes, I was around when the agreement was taken but you didn't tell me in full details of the agreement, and that is what I want you to explain to me because I don't see any reason why King Dingbang won't tell the princess about the agreement?

Our wedding is just two days away." Prince Gen said.

"You want to know why?" King Wang Lei

asked in a serious tone.

"Yes, father." Prince Gen answered.

King Wang Lei kept dumb. They kept staring at each other. The king was not ready to utter any word and Prince Jen was waiting for his father to tell him why they had the agreement, but after a few minutes, king Wang Lei stood from his throne and left prince Gen still sitting in the court. Prince Gen was confused when his father left him without uttering a word. He immediately knew that there was something wrong somewhere. Prince Gen followed him to his room because he was desperate to know why they had the agreement. After all, he knew it as a peace agreement but now it seems like there's something attached to that agreement that's why king Dingbang decided to exchange the princess for it.

Prince Gen left for his father's room. When he got to the room entrance, he knocked on the door but the King didn't answer him. Prince Gen knocked once more and the his father came out.

"Father, you left me without uttering a word.

Why please?" Prince Gen asked as he stood in front of his father.

"You're asking me why?

Alright, if you want me to answer your question then get married to the princess first and I'll answer any question you ask me." King Wanglei answered.

"Father, I'm meant to know why I'm marrying the princess. What if after the marriage something bad happened?

What if King Dingbang is using her to trap us, prince?" Prince Gen asked his father "Gen, you need to stand by my side. You don't need to be afraid. Do you think I will go into an agreement just like that without considering the consequences?

I promise you that everything will be okay. Just do what I asked you to do." King Wanglei told him.

Princess Fen was in her room sobbing tears after the prince had left the room. She was distressed and didn't know what to do. She felt like her whole world had been shattered. As she sat on the bed crying, a knock came from the door but she didn't pay any attention to it because she was weeping bitterly. Luckily for the person, princess Fen didn't lock the room from inside. The person knocking from outside heard her crying and the person decided to open the door. It appears that it was Shu that was knocking. She went in and shut the door behind her. Shu walked up to Princess Fen who was still sitting on her bed.

"My princess, why are you crying?" Shu asked her but the princess didn't answer her. Shu took princess Fen in her arms to comfort her. Princess Fen laid on Shu's lap.

Princess Fen kept on weeping. She was very worried. Shu later remembered the problem princess Fen has been facing, the marriage. Shu understood that it was because of the marriage she saw when prince Gen came with his father. And there were only two days left until her marriage. Princess Fen's eyes were reddish and swollen from crying. Shu raised Princess Fen's head and wiped her tears. Shu asked her to lay down on the bed so that she can have some rest.

"Why was I born into this world?" Princess Fen whispered to Shu's ears.

"My princess, please don't say that. You are loved, it is just that the King and the queen failed to understand you. Please, my princess, forget about what they are saying and focus on what you want. Let me advise you, on that day lock yourself in the room and don't come outside. They won't be able to bring you out as long as the door is locked." Shu advised her.

"What! Then, how will I feed?" Princess Fen asked because it sounds awkward to her.

"Don't worry my princess, I will take care of that," Shu responded.

"How?" Princess Fen asked as she stood and sat on the bed.

"I will bring food that you will feed on, morning, afternoon, and evening. I will bring it as early as possible." Shu assured her.

"Are you sure that I will be safe?" Princess Fen asked.

"Why not?

Remember, they are giving you out without your permission. So to show the King that you have your right. He shouldn't be making choices for you." Shu advised her.

Princess Fen stared at Shu in surprise

But…. Princess Fen was about to utter a word when a knock came from the door.

"My princess, are you expecting anyone?" Shu asked the princess.

"No. Am not." Princess Fen answered.

"Alright, sit down and let me check who is there," Shu said as she stood up and headed to the door.

Shu almost fell backward when she saw the person standing in front of her.

"Good day your majesty." Shu greeted king Dingbang who was standing at the door.

King Dingbang sighted Princess Fen from outside. He furrowed his brows as he gazed at princess Fen. Shu on the other hand stood frozen.

King Dingbang went to talk to princess Fen if she made prince Gen angry because he was looking angry when he came out. After staring at Princess Fen for some minutes, he left without uttering a word.

Princess Fen and Shu sighed with relief.
