Chapter 7 To be a Ninja

"What is this?" Kin asked as Shizune dropped a pile of books, scrolls and papers in from of him.

"Although lady Tsunade gave you the ranks of a Genin. She said you still need to know the basics." Shizune said as Kin looked at her.

"Don't look at me like that? This is the 5th Hokage's orders," she said.

He just nodded at her words as he started to flip the books.

These kinds of books are not something that a genin should read. Not even I can fully understand most of these.

Shizune then recall what Tsunade told her.

"Hey, Shizune. That kid got the potential to become the greatest ninja of this new generation of ninjas. No. The greatest ninja that ever lives." Tsunade said.

"Even greater than the first?" Shizune asked.

"Even greater than the first," Tsunade said.

"If possible I even want to promote him to the rank of a Jonin when I saw what he can do against Orochimaru. But the elders are so persistent that I even have to scream my heart out just to get him to be a ninja." Tsunade said.

"Well, I don't think you should give him special treatment just because you know him. A Hokage should be fair to all and be able to bring peace don't you think so." Shizune said as she teased Tsunade.

"Good grief. You are starting to sound just like your uncle." Tsunade said as she smiled.

"So here are the things that you need to send to him." She said as she put a stack of books on the table.

"That much? Lady Tsunade I don't think a genin should be reading that many books." Shizune said.

"What are you saying? Of course, he should not consider himself as just a genin. He is a student of the legendary sannin and the fifth Hokage he should aim for more." Tsunade said.

"One down." Kin said as he put down the book that he was reading before Shizune finish her flashback.

"Already? But that book has like 500 plus pages and I have not been here for more than 5 minutes. Just take this seriously." Shizune said.

"Wait how are you reading when you covered your eyes with a headband?" Shizune asked as she noticed that he was wearing his headband on his eyes from the beginning.

"Oh, and the pig is eating that scroll." Kin pointed out that Tonton the pig was biting a chunk out of one of the scrolls that she gave him.

"Tonton don't. That is not food," she said as he held back Tsunade's pig.

"Oh yeah. Lady Tsunade also said that you should go see a jonin named gai after you finish reading. Well, I have to go now. I don't want tonton eating all the books and papers around here. And please don't tell lady Tsunade that I was responsible for that scroll." Shizune said as she leave.

Only to realize midway that there is no way Kin is going to lie to Tsunade.

"Tiger boar ox dog? this seems to be different from the one that naruto used," he said remembering Naruto used different hand signs for his clones.

"Ram serpent Tiger. I wonder what the difference is." He said as he performed both of them which shocked him by how different they are.

He noticed that the shadow clone can interact with physical things and consume more chakra. But make up for it by being able to share vision, knowledge and even experience as he noticed that if the shadow clone read a book the information about that book is ingrained into his mind. A normal clone on the other hand is just an illusion that doesn't contribute anything apart from distraction and the low chakra usage is the only thing positive that it has against is that when you create a shadow clone your chakra was divided into two between you and the clone whereas the standard clone didn't need such a thing and can be performed without taking such a risk.

"I think I should go and meet that gai guy," he said as he created a shadow clone and leave him to read all the remaining books that he was supposed to read.

Oh, on his way he met with Shikamaru, Choji, Ino and Azuma who were on their way to a restaurant.

Azuma is a tall man with brown eyes and olive skin who possesses short black spiky hair and a beard. He wore a standard Konoha ninja uniform and a sash with the Kanji fire marked around his waist.

Choji however was the opposite of Azuma who can be said to be good-looking. Choji has a rotund build and marking on his cheeks in the form of swirls. He has spiky light brown hair that sticks upward which was his most notable feature as he wore his blue forehead protector in a manner that allows two tufts of hair to poke out of each side.

Lastly, Ino is a fair-skinned woman of average height with light blue eyes. She has long platinum blonde hair with bangs framing the right side of her face and a ponytail on her back.

They were on their way to go to Yakinkku Q. Since Azuma was going to give them a treat for Shikamaru's chunin promotion.

Shikamaru when he saw Kin try to pretend that he did not see him as he does not want to be associated with him. Thinking that it could be bothersome.

However, Choji called Kin out.

"Hey aren't you the new guy that Shikamaru told me about. The red hair weirdo with a forehead protector on his face." Choji said.

"Ah. Nice to see you." Shikamaru having no other choice decided to greet Kin.

Azuma and Ino also noded at Kin but didn't say anything to him as they don't want him to tag along with them to their ceremony party.

Azuma thought that he might not be able to pay for choji alone so inviting another is out of the question.

Ino thought that he was only wearing his forehead protector on his face to hide his ugly features so she is not interested in associating with him.

"We are going to a restaurant to eat. Want to come?" choji asked.
