CHAPTER 15:
(I did change the the cover so I posted an extra chapter as a sorry message to my dear readers.)
Adam didn't know how to react.
"Madam, is everything alright? Just tell me if you have trouble." Adam could only say that. But her answer made his heart shrink with pain.
"He isn't coming back to me. I was right when I thought this relationship won't work. I knew he would change his mind the moment Kate stepped into the plane. Poor me, I worked myself for home because I thought we would be back together. I curse the day I convince myself to love Fidel. My whole life is just drama, pain and suffering. I feel like taking my own life right now!" Lian paced the office while clutching her stomach as if she was experiencing pain. Then, she sighed, went to the bathroom and washed her face, then came out and asked Adam to drive her to the Grand hotel.
At the Grand hotel, people were already changing shifts since it was a hotel that was open twenty-four hours of the day. When Eva was Lian, she was overjoyed because to her, seeing her here meant Fidel was back and she was back to resuming her work. But seeing the expression on her face and the coldness around her, she felt something was wrong.
"Hey... Talk to me please! Did anyone bully you?" Eva asked concerned.
"Let me talk to Mrs Oliver. After that, we will talk in length." Lian said. Eva nodded and let her enter the elevator.
Mrs Oliver Stone was almost taking her evening break when her door opened and Lian walked in. She would have been happy seeing Lian but not with that expression on her face.
"You little thing, every time you disappear, you come back looking worse than you left. What is happening to you?" Mrs Oliver Stone asked.
"I want to ask, the last you said looked like me, where can I find her?" She asked indifferently and it shocked Mrs Oliver.
"Why do you ask? You're being weird and that's freaking me out." She complained.
"Just tell me please. Maybe this is the last wish I can ask for before my life becomes meaningless." Lian begged.
"as I said she's from Sky Wing. The last time I met with her, she was living at Riversides apartment just at the outskirts of the capital. A bit maybe she could have relocated." Mrs Oliver explained.
"Did she have a daughter? A son or anyone close to her?" Lian asked.
"Not anyone I know off."
Lian left the office partly surprised partly satisfied.
...
Evening in the palace.
As Fidel was browsing through Lian's pictures, he saw the advert and his heart almost leapt out of his cage. He quickly went back to the mail wanting to send a message to Adam but instead Adam had already sent one to him.
"If you don't come back, you might loose her."
Fidel was now running crazy, crushing everything in his room with anger. No, not now, not soon. I can't loose her. Late, not knowing what was happening walked in the room with a mind of comforting him but his bloodshot eyes scared her off. She stood at the door and stared at him in fear.
"Get out of my sight!" Fidel roared. In fact, she was wearing a very revealing mini dress but Fidel was too blinded by anger he wasn't seeing her either.
After fuming for the whole night and almost crashing Kate for clumsily passing in front of him so he could notice her, he lay in bed and lamented lightly till morning.
At the same time, someone else was looking at the ticket, caught amidst tears and sorrow. She didn't know anything else right now except that she was lonely and empty inside. When she slid into sleep, Adam sighed and took a picture of the ticket. Kai was down by then. Being the cameraman, he saw all her loneliness and burnt from inside.
...
Morning...
The prince left in the royal attire to walk around town. Since he couldn't leave, he couldn't stay in the house either. He stopped the guards and walked into the mall. It was a low-class mall, but the guards were not to question anything, especially after knowing there was a tracking device on his clothes. So he wouldn't escape.
Moments later, two workers of the mall entered the company car and left, one had a hat covering most of his face.
After a while, Katherine realized the tracker wasn't moving. Something is not right. She called the guards and asked them to check the mall. The guards ran around but only found the prince's attire at the second floor of the mall. The records showed the prince had picked up a necklace and actually paid for it.
Meanwhile, the car stopped and two men walked out, now not in uniform but in casual clothes. The other one still had a hat, and that one with a hat was Fidel. The other worker who had helped him escape, Ryan decided to follow him. Fidel gave him a choice, either to choose to go back or follow him. If he has to go back, he'll pay for everything he caused. But Ryan wasn't stupid. He knew if he went back, he would loose his job and even land on jail. He chose to follow him.
They stopped a private taxi and paid to be driven across town. On fact, Ryan took the steering himself and sped off.
When they checked the surveillance video, they realised Fidel had fooled them. He actually already left. The next thing, all the highways in the city were temporarily shut down and every car was checked. News ran across town, anyone who would hand over the prince will be paid millions. It was in time for a red taxi to pass the last highway and speed off into the rural heading towards the border. Hearing the news, the taxi driver was about to pick up his phone. Who wouldn't want free millions of money? But Fidel snatched his phone and directly tucked it under his jacket.
"I'd do a transfer of ten million to you, but only when we get to the border.
Ryan was driving madly.
