CHAPTER 22:
"Will you just say your point and defend it?" Kai fired back at him.
"I had an idea earlier," Adam said, "But when you knocked me out, my brain was reset to default. So I have no idea as for now. But, you can give me time to adjust some screws in the brain and I'll be able to think straight."
Everyone wanted to laugh except for Fidel who was very serious.
"Boss please, this isn't a company meeting. Can you at least smile?"
Everyone laughed and a voice came, "good morning guys." Lian had woken up.
"You guys made a lot of noise that woke up my wife!" Fidel complained which made the guards shocked. How can their voice reach third floor and even penetrate the sound proof walls of their bedroom?
"Can I please dismiss you guys? We have something we need to talk about." Lian asked politely. In return, the guards nodded and even added a smile before walking away. After all no one used the words please, especially their boss if he wanted go dismiss them. Lian looked at them smiling before turning to the ever serious Fidel. "I need to report to work today."
"Eva said she was coming so you won't go to work until tomorrow. Besides, you can take Ryan to the hotel he'll take up the management from there until I think of something better he can do." Fidel said.
"What about the papers? Have you already gotten them from Dallas? And the issue of my dad... What do you think?" Lian asked.
"Don't worry about the papers. As for your dad, just tell me what you want to do to them. Am by your side."
Meanwhile, in court.
If Dallas' money can help him be in illegal ownership of land, then Fidel's word of mouth can make justice be administered. The original documents were with the new judge because everyone who participated in this case earlier was in custody. Dallas was charged for two offences.
"You are charged with illegal ownership of Mr. Hannes' land and illegal possession of someone else's documents of the Elite hotel ownership." The judge. Now Dallas connected the dots. It was not like Fidel was letting him have the papers, he was setting him up.
"Fuck that son of a bitch!" Dallas cursed loud enough for the judge to hear.
"Mr. Dallas, you are also being charged for using foul words in court." He said.
Dallas wanted to just cry now. He offered to pay the judge. "We can talk this out. Just tell me how much you need!"
"Mr. Dallas, you are also charged for trying to bribe a judge!" the judge said. Dallas didn't know what to say. He didn't know that Fidel had only given the judge a single sentence. "If you don't administer justice, I will personally come over and help you do it." Not what happened to Senior Jones. Even the judge couldn't risk. This time Old Hannes hugged the title deed with joy. Dallas' family was to vacate that same day. His wife took the kids to her home and started over again while Dallas was charged with many offence which included drug trafficking and oppression of the poor, plus illegal ownership of Elite hotel in the past few days. So, he was sentenced for life imprisonment.
Meanwhile, Lian sat on the balcony waiting for Eva to come. She was also frowning at the fact that she can't just go to the empire.
"Fuck! I'll just disappear before anyone notices." She snorted silently. But then Ryan walked to the balcony and sat next to her.
"When the prince was taking a risk of illegally crossing the border to come to his wife, I couldn't imagine the girl he's risking everything for. You really deserve him." Ryan said.
"I would have, but your people don't want me so am on my own." Lian said.
"What matters is what exists between you and him. People's opinions has nothing to do with your relationship. In fact, no one knows the length you can go for him, or the length he can go for you. Only the two of you know that, and that's what matters. I love the way the prince does everything. He doesn't care about the world, not even his own parents. He just want to be in your arms. Am really jealous since am fucking single!" Ryan complained.
"Come on, you've just arrived here and there is enough time to socialise. You're yet to meet beautiful people here." Lian said.
She had just finished talking when someone ran up the stairs and on the balcony towards them. But seeing a man she hadn't seen before, Eva stopped and for a second their eyes locked. Ryan couldn't take his eyes off her, and for no reason, Eva was looking at this handsome young man with scarlet hair differently. Unlike Fidel who had dark hair, Ryan had scarlet hair. Unlike Fidel's distant black eyes, Ryan had polite, sleepy blue eyes that you'll admire from a distance. Unlike Fidel's serious face, Ryan seemed to be always ready for jokes and smiles. Fidel always hid his smile for his woman.
"Is there something I don't know?" Lian disrupted the moment.
"Umm...not really. I was just surprised I've never seen him here." Eva said awkwardly before hugging her.
"She... She looks like someone I've seen before. Maybe that's why I was lost in the moment." Ryan roughed his hair.
Someone you know? Your girlfriend?" Lian asked.
"I've been single all my boring life!" Ryan said seriously and cursing at the same time. "Nice knowing you. Am Ryan."
"Am Eva. " the shook hands which lasted a moment longer.
Who was Kai? Kai was a guy who would pop up when you least expect him and embarrass you. So just now as Ryan didn't know what to do next, Kai ran towards them and looked at him for a moment.
"Of course you've been single. Who would love you like this? No muscles, just big eyes and big butt." Kai joked as he handed the phone to Lian. Lian laughed and Ryan looked at Kai awkwardly. Kai smiled and Eva became so uncomfortable. Kai was bringing a message from Fidel.
"Damn it Kai, you just made my friend uncomfortable." Lian said not meaning it.
