CHAPTER 24: FAMILY TIES BROKEN
"You... I've entertained you for long!" Fidel held on her clothes so tight Kate was suffocating. "You did try to poison her in the childhood and still did the same mistake few days ago. You want to get her out of your way right?"
Pap! Another slap on the other side of the Kate. Kate fell to the ground. She had never trembled this much in her life. And she had never known this side of this handsome man who seemed not to care much about everything.
"You know what? Even if she does, I'll never love you. I'll die with her." A kick in the stomach and Kate vomited blood. This time she was screaming.
"I entertained your nonsense for long until you decide to take it to another level. She is my wife and you must respect her. I can wipe you from existence in just one minute.!" Fidel was going to give her another kick when Lian came in between.
"Enough!" Lian was also trembling. She hadn't seen Fidel this mad.
"Are you fine?" he asked pulling her close. Lian resisted.
"Am fine." She then leaned down to Kate who was no better. Her face was redesigned and she couldn't even open her eyes. "Am here. I'll take care of you Kate. Hold on for a moment. Don't die." Hearing her voice, Kate raised her hand and Lian held out of her.
"Madam you are so good hearted." Kai thought. That's what every guard thought. Kate had been full of dramas and they never loved her either.
In her hand she still held the card and Fidel saw it. He didn't bother to take it though.
"Call an ambulance for me please!" Lian begged before turning to Fidel. "You... You can't be getting this violent in public ok? She's a woman and you didn't have to crush her like that."
"You know what I feel right now? She doesn't deserve to live. She disgraced my wife in public, my wife! Am a great man and you deserve the highest order of respect. I won't have you get disgraced in public by anyone. I've been holding on for long, you think I don't have a bottom line?" Fidel asked.
"Umm... Am sorry on her behalf. Please next time you can't do this in public. People were watching!"
"Adam will handle that. No one recorded. That's a rule. I will continue acting that way if anyone gets to you. That was a slight punishment. I'll kill someone for you if that is what it takes to get you the respect you deserve. I personally don't disrespect people."
Lian sighed. The ambulance had arrived. Lian got in after Kate was placed in. Fidel didn't even want her to go but she insisted. When they got to the hospital, she was rushed in the emergency room as Lian waited outside. After half an hour, Kate was taken in the ward and Lian followed. She had given the order to take Kate in a personal ward. She had to wait for another half an hour before Kate could wake up.
When she woke up, Kate felt every bone in her body was broken. It pained so much she almost cried. She then looked at Lian with a face so swollen it couldn't show any emotions. Lian didn't know whether to laugh or cry when she looked at her. This was a pathetic situation but Kate's face was a whole joke on its own. It seemed she wasn't welcoming her so Lian stood out and waited for her father to arrive. When Lian saw senior Jones with a bandaged nose coming in, she really sympathized. But what senior Jones said most hurt her bottom line.
"Since when I took you from your damn mother Meghan Ford, you became the family's bad luck. Everywhere you went, only evil prevailed." Senior Jones said this in Lian's face.
God! Lian wanted to cry just now. She looked at senior Jones with teary eye. "The moment I walk out of this hospital, any ties between me and your family will be broken forever. Don't look for me!"
And she meant it. Lian was also a human being and wasn't taking it anymore. As for the moment, senior Jones didn't see that as problem. In fact, to him it was a relief. Not until he walked into the ward and realized his own daughter was in a personal ward in this private hospital. Being in a private hospital was ugly on this own, but a personal ward, that was a disaster. Senior Jones wanted to follow Lian and say sorry. But it was already too late. The guards had arrived and taken her home.
Lian's night in the silver castle was unnaturally long. She didn't take supper however much Fidel tried to get her to eat. She was shaking all over and crying and no one was in a position to calm her down. In fact, the castle was dead silent like a funeral home. It seemed no one was breathing out loud. You know, she had gone against Fidel and taken Kate to hospital. She had even order her to be given first class treatment. But senior Jones had simply referred to her as bad lack even though it's true Kate had brought this on herself. She had personally broken the ties with a family she grew up in. Even though they never treated her fairly, she still felt something for them. With them, she felt she at least belonged somewhere. But today, everything changed and it seemed she doesn't belong to anyone or anywhere in this earth.
She kept rolling the necklace she grew up with in her arms.
When morning came, for some reason she didn't want to get out of bed. She just laid there staying at the ceiling. Fidel for some reason just sat on the coach and didn't even get out of the bedroom. The guards were all uncomfortable and even Ryan when he walked out of his bedroom and wanted to go to work, no one was willing to drive him over. So he literally sensed the tension and sat alone in the living room. Everything seemed so boring.
Lian sighed and decided to talk to Fidel after a night of thoughts, tears and pain. "I thought I belonged somewhere, somewhere I wasn't loved but I did belong there. After senior Jones calling me bad luck, I feel no one wants me again. I don't belong anywhere and... And it's just the most painful reality I have ever known."
Fidel didn't know what to say so he said, "But you do belong to me right?"
Lian laughed and walked out of bed. It was already eleven in the morning. So she took her bath and this time they decided to drive to the company together. The guards also sensed normal air and they lightened up. That's when Max and other guards took Ryan who wasn't now in the mood of going anywhere to the hotel.
In fact, Kai helped madam out of the house happily. Adam watched and couldn't help smiling. When Fidel came, he gave Kai a nasty look. Kai stepped back and let them walk together. But he added something that made Lian miss a step and tumbles with her heels and hold onto Fidel's suit.
"This is the third-day boss."
Everyone became alert, held their breath and looked at their boss. Fidel was shocked but choose to help the tumbling Lian back to her feet first. She then tidied his coat and coughed.
