41. Sundown

Tanya's POV

Weeks had gone by after the plan was formulated and a date had been set. Things were calm on our side as Dante had kept his silent promise of not harming us except we got into his border.

Times when I thought like this, guilt threatened to creep in at what I was planning. Each time it did, I pushed it off as I recalled how he robbed me of the right of knowing my real parents.

I wasn't allowed to stay long in my apartment. Leo harnessed a fear that I might be kidnapped or harmed there so I remained in their home, only going into town and my apartment for a few hours.

Whenever I did though, Daniel and Marie accompanied me. They always scanned the perimeter and were alert in case of any mishap. I was happy and sad about that.

I was sad because at times I felt suffocated because of the lack of privacy and Marie's open flirting. I was happy however because, in this little time, we had become friends.
