Chapter 6

I loved every single moment I spent there. From the lunch break, to the dress rehearsal, to getting back on set and memorizing this poem with the other cast. Everyone  was super nice and I eventually let my guard as I got more Acquainted with the people I was going to be working with over time.

Today was the day i was going to start the rehearsal fully And I was more that prepared for it. I was up as early as 6am in the morning did, I didn't want to be late at all in my first day.  It take me 1hour to get ready and that the exact amount of hours I took nothing more. "Good morning dearest mother, did you sleep good." I greatest my mom the minute I walked into the kitchen.

I was dress in a bright pink joggers with a matching hoodie that has a blue butterfly icon on it. " morning Kitty Kori, you ready for your big first day." She said responding and I cringing hearing that name kitty kori, it reminded me that one toy I had that looked so much like a real life cat. That thing scared the shit out of me hence by i became a dog person and i got kovu instead. I glared at my mom for calling me that and she immediately got the message. She gave me an apologetic smile and placed a freshly baked waffles and ice-cream  in front of me.

I gobbled down the food as fast as I could, it was 7am already and I didn't want to be late not even for a minute. I gave my mom a quick hug saying. " I love you mom, take care." I didn't wait for her response before grabbing the car key and heading out. I got to the packing lot the same time I saw Jace Norway pulling up in an old rust truck. I mentally cringed at the sigh of the car, that poor thing need a Make over, even the owner of the truck needs a make over .I put on a cheerful face ad we were  both approaching the entrance, before I got the change to even speak to him or say hello he beat me to it saying

" I know, it doesn't look like a lot but that truck has literally save my life, twice. It might not be a beauty like yours but I would appreciate you not looking down on my car." My eyes was as wide as my mouth because I was beyond shocked. Huh a lot of people do say I wear my emotions on my sleeve but I didn't think they were literally talking about my my face. Gawd damn it now I have to apologize to him, and we just getting to be good Acquaintance as at the last time I saw him.

I quickly entered and ran up to his side. I smacked my lips to get his attention, that didn't work since he was still upset with me so I spoke instead. " hey Jace,   I am,  I am sorry about early. I just—" he caught me short and didn't let me finish I didn't even think he was that upset about it, but the way he cut me short and responded promptly said other wise. I could literally feel the anger moving off him in waves as he said.

"didn't expect a find young man like me to carry an old rusty truck like that. Yea I get it, so forgive me for not living the fancy lifestyle."  He said even more upset than earlier, he increased his walking pace so he was Way ahead of me now. I groan in response and tried to catch up to his pace but it was no use, he was too fast  so I just gave up and yell my apologies after him. " hey I am sorry!" But my apology fell on empty ground because he had already entered the hall we used for rehearsal while I was still in the hallway sulking.

Took me forever but I finally got there just in time to find Miss Mariana Buffeté addressing Griffen and the rest. When she noticed me she smiled but it didn't reach her eyes, I guess I was about to  be chided for coming in 10mins late. "Miss Kori your, pretty late today is there a reason why?" I gave her an apologetic smile before saying, " no ma'am I apologize for my lateness." I said talking a short bow and she just nodded in acknowledgement while I took my seat.

" so as I was saying, we only have 28 day for rehearsal, make good use of it. the state play is scheduled for 15th of May and we don't have much time, make sure everything is done to perfection. I believe everyone here knowns the part they are to play— good now carry on." That was a little hash, was she that upset that I came late and as a result indirectly transferred aggression on them ? Ugh how am I getting on people's bad side today, first is was Jace and now Miss Mariana Buffeté. Could it be because I didn't pray this morning? Nah I highly doubt that, I was never a religion person from starch why should  that be a reason.

"Hello! earth to Kori? Can we start the rehearsal now?" Griffen said waving his hands in my face and i swiped his hands away from my face glaring at him. I smiled at my teams, Jace and Raven clearing my throat before speaking. "Hello everyone, so to get to the point. We all Know  our characters names. Jace, you are playing the role of Thomas Aqua, the man Katrine will have an affair with. Raven, you are playing the role of Dawn Zafron the south African office assistant to Zion Samiyon. Zion Samiyon is played by Griffen." the all nodded to my explanations, they were all well grouped on that already no doubt.

Moving on, the first poem which read

I WONT LET GO

Just sitting here thinking about someone.

Can't seem to grab it, but I know it's true.

It's just a feeling about someone.

I close my eyes give it a minute to reminisce.

The closeness that we have is unbreakable.

I don't have the right words to explain it but it feels so good.

Just standing here smiling, time to reminisce.

It always has been you right from the very start.

I always hated love but with you I am ready to restart.

Every single part of you is a work of art.

And so to you I sing this song.

Whenever I think about you, you light up my dark world.

Said I have you on my mind because I won't let go.

I sing your name tonight because it's on my mind.

Said I won't let go, because you light up my world…

I won't let go

I read it out all at once at first so we could all internalise the poem. The second time I read it from start to finish but more slowly this times so we could know how to go about it. It started of slow bit with time we got the hang of each line of the poem, and  just like that the rehearsal was in full swing.
