Brotherhood

[Bronze Household: Brakus and Brock's room]

The brothers sit in their small room, catching up with the events if eachother's lives. Brock looks concerned as Brakus tells him about where he has been and why he has been gone so long.

"I'm sorry, I wanted to come home sooner but ao much has happened and I didn't want to put you guys in danger. You can't tell Mom about any of this, she has been through enough already" Brakus says, hoping that his brother will keep their conversation a secret; he cringes at the thought of their mother finding out.

Brock considers his request for a moment before grinning from ear to ear, "Okay, I won't tell her...but you owe me snacks for a month and you have to let me get the first turn on the game!" He sticks his tongue out at Brakus , teasing him.

Brakus drops his head, he is taken aback by Brock's willingness to carry out his request but he is amused by his innocence. "Brock you're such a child! haha, but you have a deal" Brakus replies with a childish laugh and a small grin.

"Life has changed for the worst and I'm glad to be home, it won't always be like this Brock.." Brakus slowly walks to their window and stares outside as he says this. "It's so peaceful out there.." he reminisces on the past, missing the simplicity of life that he has grown used to.

Brock walks to stand next to his brother and put his hand on his back to comfort him, "I missed you bro!" he says. Brakus turns to see Brock who has tears trailing down his face and is wiping snot from his nose.

Brakus hugs his little brother tight and says , "I'm sorry, but you'll have to be strong, I'll have to leave soon... but for now let's go to our spot."

They continue to hug for a moment before Brakus releases the hug while with a sigh and stands up. He pats Brock on the shoulder before picking his backpack up and headings towards the door.

Brakus stands in the doorway and turns to his brother with a goofy look, "You coming?" he asks, beckoning Brock to follow.

[Forest Path: Brakus and Brock]

Brock and Brakus walk down a path together surrounded by thick trees and brush on either side , the soft rushing of a waterfall can be heard in the distance.

"Whats new lil bro? are you still being a menace to society?" Brakus teases Brock as he pokes him in his cheeks and gives one of them a playful pinch.

"Hey! stop it!" Brock pushes him away, he seems to still be in good spirits so Brakus leaves him alone. Brock laughs and says, "I finally beat the final boss in Saipon man".

"No way! I've been trying to beat that game for weeks!" Brakus can't contain how proud he is of him. "So how did you do it?" Brakus asks with a grin.

Brock pokes his chest out proudly and laughs mischievously, "Oh , I can't tell you that..". Brakus gives him a joking death stare before softly punching him on the shoulder.

"How cruel...." Brakus recognizes a large tree in front of them, "....look it's that tree, we are almost there."

A shadow begins to form in one of the trees behind the boys , a ominous glow comes from between the leaves as something, or someone, watches their every move.

There is some movement among the branches, then a electronic beep; a slithery voice begins to speak. "I found the boy who was with that man.... should I kill him now?" they ask viciously.

Hanzo's bonechilling voice comes through the speaker clearly, "Keep your eyes on him, we need to kill the old man first and he should lead us directly to him."

"Got it. I'll keep you updated, praise the shadows" the man hangs up the communicator then glares at Brakus and Brock who are climbing the large tree, they are completely careless with gigantic smiles on their faces.

[A few minutes later... Brakus and Brock]

"Whoa this view is amazing! I've never been this high before!" Brakus clings to the top of the huge tree and Brock struggles a few feet below. The sun is beginning to set over the forests canopy, there is a river bending in and out of the woods; the inpenetrable wall of Ironwell can be seen scraping the clouds in the distance.

Brakus notices that Brock isn't getting any closer to him and has a death grip on the trunk. "Brock! Are you alright?" he yells.

"Uhh sure, lets go with that" Brock replies, his voice shakes like a blade of grass in the wind. A gust of wind causes chunks of bark to begin breaking off of the tree, and Brock begins to lose his grip but he reattaches to the tree trunk like a suction cup.

Dark clouds begin to move in and thunder booms, causing the entire tree to shake. "I think we should get down!" Brock yells nervously. Brakus locks eyes with him and nods his head before he leaps down to the branch right above Brock.

"Let's head home." Brakus says. Brock looks at Brakus' outreached hand and grabs on, Brakus swings him upwards onto his back. He begins to hop from branch to branch, heading towards to forest floor; the storm begins to break into rain and the wind picks up speed again.

"Where did this storm come from?" Brakus ponders while continuing to leap to lower branches. "I'm gonna keep us safe, don't worry lil bro.", he says as he jumps onto a dry branch with a creak; the limb snaps off the tree, sending the boys tumbling towards the ground.

Brakus reaches out to search for any branches to grab; he finally finds one, but he can't get a solid grip before it slips between his fingers. They are gaining speed and the ground is ready to come meet them halfway. They are both aware that they won't survive a fall from this height and all they can do is hold onto eachother and scream in terror.

As they near the ground they come to an abrupt stop , the boys open their eyes and to their amazement they are hovering in place, completely defying gravity.

"Uhmm... what the..a..are we flying?!?" Brakus begins to nerd out because he had always wanted to fly. Suddenly a realization hits him, "Wait, I'm not doing this..." Brakus looks around and then closes his eyes to concentrate "... and it doesn't feel like someone else is doing it...it can't be." his jaw drops as he realizes what is going on, it must be Brock who is keeping them in the air but he doesn't understand how this is possible.

"You can FLY??!!" Brakus almost passes out from hyperventilating.

Brock is just as surprised as his brother, "What!?!?" Brock yells and instantly faints, causing the brothers to fall seven feet into the ground with a crash.

[Ironwell:Residential district]

Boom! lighting hits a power line sending sparks of electricity everywhere, lightning a nearby house on fire, smoke detectors begin to go off from inside. A family of four, two parents and two children run out while choking on smoke; one of the children begins to cry and reaches for the mother, who picks her up and hold her close as she watches their house burn to the ground.

Nearby trees and houses begin to be struck by lightning and wind throws shingles around at high speed, smashing windows out of cars and getting lodged into trees. The storm is gaining strength by the second and the residential district has twisted into chaos. Sirens quickly approach the neighborhood bringing much needed aid for the people, but the damage is too widespread and the emergency teams are starting to get overwhelmed; the residential district won't survive at this rate.

[Brakus and Brock]

The boys are rolling in the mud on the forest floor completely out of breathe from the hard impact, Brakus begrudgingly trembles onto his feet and trots over to Brock, who is still struggling to catch his breath.

"Ouch!.." Brock rubs his back with both hands while rolling onto his side. He glances over at Brakus who is trying to walk off their hard landing, "That was a dream right? we mustve fell asleep...." Brock rubs his head in confusion.

Brakus puts his hand out to help Brock up, but he notices a scorching smell in the air. "It wasn't but I can't explain right now, it looks like we need to go home." Brakus points towards their home where there is smoke bellowing above the trees.

The boys turn to look at eachother, and without saying a word they start to run towards the residential district, determined to make sure that their house is still safe; but Brakus has different plans.

The dark figure from earlier watches as the boys run past him with a vicious sneer on his face. He pulls out his communicator and relays a message, "I think I found a easier way to get to the old man.." the man releases a bloodchilling cackle; focusing his gaze on Brock's back.
