A village girl

" Then what? I hate to believe it's true. Does that mean you'll be leaving us?" Dan asked, her eyes shaking with tears.

Cecelia reached out and cupped Dan's cheeks, and said with an assuring smile on her beautiful face, " I don't know Dan, but I highly doubt that. I'll be taking it to the media house tomorrow down the market toad. They'll help me publish it, and if it's true then surely the royal household will hear of it, and I'll know the next step. And if not, it means it's fake and whoever dared to use the golden seal for a prank would get punished. Alright?"

" Fine then " Dan nodded in understanding, " I'm filled up you know, and I'll be heading to get the bedding ready " she cleaned the tears lurking in her eyes, winking at Cecelia to tell her she was now alright.

" What a sleepyhead " Cecelia said now bursting into laughter.

As soon as Dan left, the younger girl Carrie began tugging Cecelia, her eyes pleading, " Please don't leave us okay? Even if it's true don't leave us " tears ran down her soft cheeks.

" God, stop this already Carrie. Everything will be fine, let's look at the bright side " Cecelia responded, patting the girl lovingly on the back before she added " I love you both and I'll never leave you no matter what okay? Now be a good girl and stop crying" She consoled her little sister.

The Night had cast its dark wings over the earth, and finally, the sun rose, promising a new day. For some, it was a happy night while others didn't have a good day.

At a particular mansion, a girl was panicking.

" But mum, she's nothing but a village girl" the blonde girl kept repeating.

" I know dear, and I don't see why you should be worrying anymore. Let your brother do it instead" The woman turned to him, " What do you say, Zach?" She asked, sipping her favorite drink.

" I don't care " came his reply that seem to shake the room. The blonde girl turned mute due to the intensity of his voice.

" I'm leaving. It looks to me like there's nothing important to do here anyway" he added as he walked out.

The younger girl looked irritated by his behavior, " being the king doesn't mean he should talk to you anyhow he wants, mom. I don't like it! " She threw a tantrum, her brows furrowing in displeasure.

" And we are completely helpless dear. He is the king, and I'm nothing but his grandmother " she replied with a small laugh

" Leave Linda. Village girl or not, she managed to get the ticket. Look, it's already 8:30"

And she dismissed the girl.

Linda huffed and left the room.

Earlier that morning, Cecelia was already in the media house waiting for the owner to arrive. She tapped her feet on the floor, her eyes shifting from the letter to the clock above her.

When she sighted him coming, she sighed and stood up to greet him as he arrived.

" Good morning sir"

They exchanged pleasantries, and she explained her reason for being there to the man. Upon hearing her immediately knew what was happening and who had sent the letter, but remained silent.

If only his daughter had caught the envelope - he silently wished.
