*Jonathan*
Our plans were going just fine until now, but I really needed to know better my "partner in crime" before we did anything stupid.
"So Alex," I continued, "Do you have any hobbies?"
"Like what?" she said.
"Like what do you do on your free time? Read, write, sing,...etc?
"Oh I play sports mostly, sometimes I even draw, but no one has seen my sketches till now, even my family hasn't."
"And why do you hide them?"
"Because I don't feel ready to show them to the world."
She seemed unconfident about her drawings.
"I bet they're awesome," I comforted her. "Take all the time you need to figure out what they're missing and what can help you feel more confident about them. I'll be by your side too."
"Thanks a lot" she said. I think that my speech made her feel a little better.
"So what sports do you play?"
"I play every sport possible. If I don't know a sport, tell me the rules and after a week I've mastered it."
"So you even play football, soccer, basketball, table tennis, etc?"
"I'm telling you: EVERYTHING. I bet I'm even better than you in the sport you're the best at."
"No need to bet, I'm not good at sports at all. You'd win without even trying."
"That's too bad. I'd like a worthy opponent to play with."
She seemed a little disappointed, but then she asked me:
"What do you do in your free time?"
"I listen to music, or I even compose some."
"So you're telling me that you aren't associated with the new music and you compose music?"
"Correction: I wasn't. Now I am."
"You are? Since when?"
She looked surprised.
"Since 3 am, when I started running to make myself suffer just the way I made you."
"Can you believe that it's been only 36 hours since we first met each other and we already started to affect each others' lives?"
"I wouldn't if I didn't experience it by myself," I responded. "I actually hope that we don't spend this whole school year with this much drama."
"Same. But I still like drama."
"Not the Daphne-Lucien type." we both agreed and laughed.
I mean they're super dramatic, and whenever you don't have drama, they just go and find it somewhere.
"Have you got any music you composed with you?"
"Only one song, I wrote for my mom when she died long ago. I'll let you hear it, but please don't judge my awful voice."
"I would never."
I gave her one of my earpods, and kept one for me. This song always brought me nostalgia, of the time when my mom was still alive. I heard my voice and the piano notes were like a crying pill, I never resisted till the end of this song without crying: but now I was trying to be strong.
Crying in the halls,
For hours.
They said that you were gone,
They even brought flowers.
I didn't believe,
a word they said.
I wanted to be with you
Till now, since then.
Now I gotta work,
Have nobody to trust,
Have nobody to talk,
Have nobody left to love.
Growing up without you,
Never was easy.
Remember you helped me,
Whenever I felt dizzy.
Now I gotta work,
Have nobody to trust,
Have nobody to talk,
Have nobody left to love.
I miss you every day,
I don't think there's a cure,
For this sort of pain.
And wherever you go,
You're still the only person that I'll ever love.
Now I gotta work,
Have nobody to trust,
Have nobody to talk,
Have nobody left to love.
And I,
Still think that I didn't say a proper goodbye,
You deserved so much more,
But you ended up being gone.
Now I gotta work,
Have nobody to trust,
Have nobody to talk,
Have nobody left to love.
But, remember
That you'll always live
In my heart.
Alexis' eyes slowly filled up with tears, which she tried to cover with her black hoodie. Slowly she gave up and she started sobbing.
"It's been only two days since we met and you managed to make me cry twice. What's wrong with you mate?"
Then she hugged me. A hug that I've been needing for years.
"I can't imagine the pain you've been through. I'm sorry."
Her hug made me feel like there was again someone who actually cared for me in this world, and I let go of some tears so I could let go of this pain too, but this time forever.
