Chapter 27: A Dragon sent to Sea

Josiah’s P.O.V

The gentle caress of the sun woke me up to an empty room. I held the blankets up to my chest as I looked around the room. I could sense the smallest sliver of Asmodyus’ presence going from the bedroom and out into the hallway. I got up and made a make-shift outfit out of the pants I was still wearing and one of Asmodyus’ tunics.

I huffed softly, choosing to ignore the fact that Asmodyus’ tunic looked like a dress. I made my way into the hall, continuing to look for Asmodyus. It must’ve been an hour or so of looking before I accepted the fact that Asmodyus was not in the castle. I leaned against the wall, catching my breath.

“Is everything alright, sire?”

I looked up and as a maid approached me, she was carrying a small basket of laundry under her arm. I stood up straighter, using the wall to help me stay up. I managed to catch my breath enough to answer her, “F-Fine, I was just um, looking for Asmodyus.”
