“Now what in the h*ll was all that?!”
I wasn’t going to let Cora intimidate me again if she was going to marry Alois. I knew she was distraught at losing her power over me when I was swept away by the princes, but this was a new low. I was standing alone in a battlefield with opponents on all sides.
“And who are you to request my business, boy?” She sneered at me, and I had it in my right mind to punch her in the face. I stomped over to her, causing her to back herself against the wall. I grabbed her by her dress.
“You listen to me, Cora,” I growled lowly at her, my eyes more silver then blue from my anger, “I will not allow you to take what is still good in this place.” I had seen the tension in the room, and the way Matthias had pulled me to the side when I arrived told me everything I needed to know.
