Chapter 28 "Friends for life"

Da-eun said in a lauder than usual voice "Both of you, keep quite.. you both are gonna make me get a headache.."

Just as she shouted, the girls surrounding Noah, hastily went back to their seats.. they thought that it was not the right time to have a nice chat with the little handsome man for the time being, and started doing what they were doing, still glancing in their direction from time to time..

Aldo and Yuna quietened down instantly and looked at Da-eun, who was glaring at them, one after another.. Noah just sat there indifferently playing on his phone, even after becoming the subject matter of their small argument.. He behaved like he had nothing to do with the topic and didn't even want to take part in their silly chats..

Da-eun let out a sigh after the two finally stopped talking.. she rubbed her forehead and turned to Yuna to explain.. "So, the thing is, when he dropped me to my house, I invited him and they met and played a game.. that's what happened.. there's nothing for you to make an issue about it.."

Then she turned towards Aldo and said "And you.. can't you act a little mature? Why do you have to argue with her, when you know that she's always on edge around you…"

After hearing that Aldo nodded his head "I'm sorry Eunaa… you are right.. I should've behaved like a mature man that I am.. I won't repeat the same mistake again.."

Yuna saw that Aldo was feeling sorry, she was about to apologise when suddenly her ears perked up and she noticed something before shouting again "How can you call her 'Eunaa'? I gave her this nickname.. who are you to call her that? I'm gonna beat you if you said one more time 'Eunaa.."

As soon as she finished Aldo spoke "Eunaa.. see that.. she is doing this again.. now I'm not at fault.. she's just nit-picking.. and starting arguments.. this time I'll let it slide because I'm a mature man, but next time don't expect me to ignore it just like that.." He teased her with an innocent expression..

Yuna heart him and her anger flared up, she was about to attack Aldo when she felt someone holding her hand and she got interrupted "You-.."

Yuna saw that it was Da-eun who had stopped her and she furrowed her eyebrows in confusion "Eunaa.. why'd you stop me?"

Da-eun let go of her hand and said "Yuna.. it's enough already.. it doesn't matter who gave me the nickname and who else is calling me that… why'd you have to make it such a big deal out of it? I don't get it.. my name is Da-eun and anyone who is close to me can call me 'Eunaa, Da-eunaa' anything they like.. I don't have any problem, then why are you arguing about this pointless topic?"

She always thought that Yuna was a mature and understanding girl.. but, now that she was arguing with Aldo about such silly things, it was clear that she was not that mature after all.. and this made her sigh in her heart.. they argued like small kids.. it was hilarious and frustrating at the same time..

Yuna heard what Da-eun said and realized that this was the first time she was being reprimanded by Da-eun for something.. she felt ashamed at her acts of immaturity and finally understood that what Da-eun was saying was right..

She hung her head low and said "I'm sorry Eunaa, for arguing about something so silly.. before, I was your only friend and I thought he was going to snatch you away from me.. so, it made me angry when I saw that you two had gotten close in just a day and I felt left out.. I know it was silly of me.. because I know that you are not my property.. you are my friend and you have every right to make more friends.. I'll be more understanding in the future.. please forgive me.."

Da-eun heard Yuna's concern and understood her reason behind doing what she did.. she stood up and held her hand before saying "You idiot.. how can anyone snatch me away from you.. if something similar happened to you, then I'll also feel a little lonely at first but later I'll understand that you also have right to make other friends, other than me.. we are not each other's property, we are friends for life.. we'll be always there for each other, whatever happens.. okay?"

Da-eun felt her eyes burning and saw that Yuna was about to cry.. she moved closer to give her a hug and held her in her arms.. Aldo, on the other side saw this and felt jealousy rising in his heart, it was not exactly jealousy, he was just feeling left out.. he also moved closer and held both of them, who were hugging each other, in his arms..

He said "Hey.. you can't do that.. I'm also your friend now.. include me in the group hug too.."

They stayed like that for merely a few seconds, when the bell rang, indicating that it was time for the next class.. so, they finally broke the hug and went back to their seats.. Yuna and Da-eun wiped their tears before looking at the front.. soon the teacher arrived and they started studying..

After two more classes, it was time for the lunch break.. Da-eun took out her and Noah's lunch boxes from her bag and handed him his box, while held hers..

Yuna and Aldo also came with their lunch boxes in their hands.. Yuna saw that they were all there and said "Alright.. let's go and eat.. I'm starving from all the study and arguments we had.." She glared at Aldo after saying that.. seeing this Aldo rolled his eyes and followed right behind them, without saying anything..

Yuna was walking in the front, behind her was Da-eun with Noah.. and finally Aldo in the last..

The hallway was filled with students going to the lunch area.. Yuna saw this and felt an urgency rising inside her heart.. she turned around and saw Da-eun in the eyes.. it was as if Yuna had given her a secret signal, and Da-eun nodded.. Noah saw this and narrowed his eyes but kept quite..

Right after their secret communication without words, Da-eun held Noah's hand and they started running with Yuna.. Aldo saw this and felt confused but still followed behind "Hey guys.. why're we running? Don't you know it's prohibited to run in the hallway? What if we get punished?"

His words fell on deaf ears.. they only stopped after reaching the lunch area.. not a single teacher noticed them running.. it was because they were running for a short distance at a time.. once they noticed a teacher, they'd stop and walk at a normal pace.. but as soon as the teacher turned around they again started running..

It was not the first time Da-eun and Yuna did that.. after arriving they soon found an empty table and sat there.. Da-eun and Yuna burst out in a fit of laughter as soon as their eyes met..

Noah, on the other hand, had different things running in his mind..
