“D, need to see you ASAP.”
That was all the text said. Germain never needed Diego “ASAP”. He didn’t say sh*t like that. Something was up, and Diego was feeling especially apprehensive. He pulled up to their headquarters – a legitimate body shop with Germaine’s main offices in the back.
Diego was nervous, knowing that whenever his boss wanted to see him, it probably wasn’t good.
The receptionist, Elisha, looked up as he walked in. She was a sweet girl who truly had no idea what nefarious things happened behind closed doors. She was slightly oblivious to everything, which was why Germaine liked her so much.
“Diego, what a pleasure to see you,” she smiled, batting her eyelashes. She was also a huge flirt. “Shall I let Mr. Fuentes know you’re here?”
Diego nodded curtly but couldn’t help the smirk that formed on his lips. It was always funny to hear Germaine called “Mr. Fuentes.” As if he were some kind of gentleman.
