There was no way in h*ll Christian was going to drop it. His girlfriend was missing, and nobody would take him seriously. He was fed up with his chief’s nonchalant attitude. If it had been his wife or daughter, he would move heaven and earth to find out where they were. Christian had long suspected that Chief Hall didn’t like him. Hall was extremely close to Mayor Page, and like a surrogate uncle to Angela. Christian suspected Hall didn’t like him in Angela’s life. 


Well, that was too d*mn bad. He was in her life, and he wasn’t planning on going anywhere. He just needed to figure out where the h*ll Angela had gone. He grabbed his coat and keys and headed for Mayor Page’s mansion. He wasn’t going to bother the man himself, he just wanted to retrace his girlfriend’s steps.
