Chapter 33: A New Normal

Angela didn’t even hear Diego come in that night. She woke up several hours later, the sun streaming in through the doors to her back porch. Just like the night before, she felt like she was on an alien planet. She’d felt a similar feeling the first time she went away for summer camp. This was so much worse, though. Everything around her felt wrong.

She heard the sound of light snoring and looked around to find Diego asleep in her armchair. Despite her anger at him, she did think it was thoughtful that he hadn’t decided to sleep in her bed. That would have been too much of an invasion of privacy.
