The Smell of Perfume

[Ellie's P.O.V.]

Anton walked to me, his eyes never leaving mine. "Ellie, no one died and there were no injuries either. But it was quite a mess over there."

Anton briefly told me what happened and I felt like crying as I listened.

During those torturous hours, I couldn't help but let my thoughts run wild despite numerous attempts at convincing myself that we had everything planned out and to our advantage. If Madam Garlin continued to be on guard, then we wouldn't be the ones who succeeded tonight. That was the main reason for my worries.

But now that they had come back in one piece, the heavy weight in my heart had finally been lifted.

"Don't cry, we're all fine." Anton raised his hand to wipe my tears. He was careful not to hurt me. His eyes were filled with mixed feelings.
