Burying my face on the padded, I tried forcing myself back to sleep but it just wasn't working. Memories from last night kept playing in my head time and time again.
Even after getting falling asleep with much effort last night, I still can't seem to shake off every thought and feeling from last night.
I had come across so many men in my life but I've never felt the way Raman makes me feel whenever he comes close to me or touches me.
My heart would race and butterflies would fill my tummy and I just can't get rid of the impact his touch leaves on me.
Sitting up, I leaned my back against the headboard and dragged my hand through my hair.
Raman is my hero, nothing more than that.
I shouldnt think of anything else other than that, I shouldn't mistake his kindness for something else.
Ella get a grip on yourself.
I told myself before I climbed down the bed and headed to the bathroom to take a nice warm bathe.
Staring at my reflection on the dressing mirror, I still couldn't believe the fact that I actually convinced myself to put on a blue dress.
It was a sweetheart off shoulder dress that had a slit on the right side of the dress that stopped an inch above my thigh. The low black wedge heels I wore with it had a soft and gentle touch on the water blue dress and it brought a satisfactory smile to my face.
Taking one more glance at the dress, I heaved out a deep sigh before I walked out of the room and headed downstairs.
As usual, I prepared breakfast for both Raman and I, before I took the meal to the dining room, grabbed a seat and served myself. Quickly stealing a glance at Raman, I couldn't help but narrow my brow and wonder what could be wrong with him.
He looked extremely tired, and for some strange reason, he was being extremely quiet this morning.
What could be wrong with him?
I asked myself, then I shrugged and began digging in.
Lifting his gaze to Ella for a moment, he still couldn't understand why he did what he did last night. He had stayed up all night thinking about what he did and trying to find answers as why he did it.
Just why on earth would he almost blow his cover last night for her?
Everything seemed like a puzzle he was finding extremely difficult to solve or put together.
Would he really risk it all for the lady sitted in front of him who was looking very beautiful in the blue dress she's putting on.
Heavens knows he's extremely confused and need answers to every of his questions.
At the moment, he couldn't help but wonder if he's the only one facing this dilemma or if she's also facing it as well. All he wanted to do was to know how she feels about all this.
Maybe he should just try listening to her thoughts.
Just this once. He thought.
For the past few seconds or minutes that seemed like hours, I've been trying to think of what to say to put an end to this awkward silence but I couldn't think of anything.
Nothing at all.
The silence that lingered between us filled the air with tension and I just wanted to end it, it was killing me.
I just wanted him to say something or even tease me, anything at all.
I'm not even sure he noticed the blue dress I'm putting on but, I didn't dress like this to impress him did I?
I really wish there was someone else aside from Raman and I in this mansion. Someone I could talk to and share my feelings with. If Gina were to be here, she'd surely keep me company, I have no idea what they might be going through in Vartish.
I thought to myself and I felt my heart sink.
Drawing me from my thoughts was the screeching sound of the chair being pushed back as I gazed up at Raman.
I watched him get up and walk out of the dining room still without uttering a single word to me.
What could be wrong with him this morning?
Why is he being so moody?
I asked myself, my curiosity at its piqued.
Walking into his room, he dragged his hand through his hair and heaved out a sigh.
As much as he tried to ignore it, he hated seeing her wear a long face, he also couldn't understand her pain cause he never had parents and he doesn't know what it feels like to have one. But, she does. He could clearly remembers her request and at this moment, her request kept ringing in his ear. Maybe he should finally grant her request and put her mind at ease and probably clear his head for a few hours. He thought and disappeared into thin air.
"Raman?" I called out his name for the first time but got no response again.
I knocked on the door to his room again for the third time before reaching out to the door knob, twisted it and pushed the door open.
My brows narrowed when I realized that his room was empty.
The room emitted the same cold air and that lovely scent of fresh squeezed oranges but, he was no where to be seen.
Where could he have gone?
I asked myself as I stepped out and shut the door behind me, hoping he'd return any time soon.
....
Lying flat on my tummy , I heaved out a long sigh.
"God, I'm bored." I mumbled, "Where the heck could hero have gone?" I asked no one in particular.
I had checked his room twice since I found out about his ability to teleport, hoping to by chance see him back in his room.
Come to think of it, I haven't even ask him anything yet. How is he able to teleport?
Could he be some kind of magician or something?
The only thing he told me that night was that he had some trick off his selves and I believed him.
Why?
What if he's lying to me?
Why do I trust him this much?
So many thoughts ran through my mind and with every question I asked myself, another question rose in my mind.
I heaved out a sigh of relief when I felt the cold air that suddenly filled my room and the presence of someone around me. Standing behind me.
Hastely sitting up, I turned my gaze around to the left corner of the room with hopes of seeing Raman but strangely, my gaze landed on nothing.
"Strange..." I mumbled, before I climbed down the trundle and walked out of the room, airing up to Raman's room to have one more look at it, to convince myself that Raman was back and trying to pull a prank on me.
Shutting the door to Raman's room, my brows narrowed when I realized that his room was still vacant.
If Raman wasn't back yet, why did I get that strange feeling that someone was in my room?
I asked myself but, I decided to shake off the feeling and head back to my room.
I began taking heavy steps when my back became heavy with every steps I took.
Someone was behind me and following me, I could feel that strange heavy and dark aura around me and cold air that filled the air.
Halting in my tracks, I slowly tilt my head to look over my shoulder and it was the same.
Nothing.
Fear began to crep its way into my heart and shivers ran down my spine. There was no one behind me yet I was continously getting that strong feeling that someone was watching me.
Where on earth could hero be?
Knocking on the door to her room, "Ella..." He called out for the second time but still no response.
Pushing the door open, he took steps into the room and couldn't help but narrow his brows when he couldn't find her in her room.
Where could she have gone?
She was not in the garden, neither in the lounge or kitchen or libary nor is she here.
"Ella where are you?" He asked himself and anxiety began to build up in him.
There was only one place left to check.
Appearing out of nowhere out the rooftop, he could help feel relived when his gaze landed on Ella, standing on the edge of the rooftop, with her gaze fixed on the dark night sky.
"Ella..." I heard him call out to me from behind.
Slowly turning around, " Where have you been?" I asked, trying to contain my fear.
His brows narrowed when he could sense the extreme fear she was emitting, he could clearly see the beads of sweat that was formed on her forehead.
"Ella, what's wrong? Why are you trembling from fear?" He inquired.
"Where did you go? You left without saying a word to me..." I was caught in my breath when suddenly I could see some kind of dark shadow standing behind Raman.
My entire body quivered and my legs began to tremble, my body involuntary began taking small steps backward and I didn't realize I had ran out of space to put my leg for the next step I wanted to take.
Tilting his head a bit, he could sense the presence of a demon behind him and he knew who exactly it was but the next thing that caught his attention was the loud scream that escaped Ella lips.
"ELLA!!" He screamed out the instant she fell off the roof.
