The crossover

Meanwhile Jolene was trying to be clean after years of struggle and drug problems, she was finally trying to get rid of her old, nasty habits and was willing to make a closer connection with her daughters. Jolene was succeeding at building a connection with Jenny. But was failing miserably with Sierra, nonetheless she didn't give up the hope and kept dreaming when Sierra and Jolene would develop the ideal mother-daughter relationship. Jolene also started seeing a new guy, he was really charming and had a quick witty humor, which made him even more likable, he introduced himself as Daniel and told her he was a manager of a night club. They were planning to catch-up at her place tonight so he could meet her daughters.

On the other hand, when Sierra arrived at the bar. She saw all the girls standing in a group, laughing and chatting freely. Jade saw Sierra and called her over to the group.

"Hey my favorite co-worker" Jade said with sass

"Hi" Sierra responded with a little chuckle

"Our rude and bitchy manager is apparently hooking up with a middle aged woman and he won't be here tonight. We can do whatever we wish" Jade told Sierra with pure excitement

"Well I bet that 'middle aged woman' would be better looking than Daniel" Sierra said and girls started laughing when suddenly a member shouted

"Hey don't be mean about my crush"

And then girls broke into laughter. That night, nobody took their job seriously, all the dancers and hookers flirted with the guys they found interesting and some of them even slept with them. Bartenders were busy doing drinking challenges and some of them called their friends over. Sierra wasn't interested in any of those things and she saw Adrien was packing up so she went over

"Hey, I thought you'd have fun, like the others are having"

"I will be, but in my own way" Adrien replied while still packing up

"And what is your way?" Sierra asked

"You'll have to experience it yourself, it's really an undescribable feeling" Adrien said, hoping that she would agree to go with him

"Alright, since you are begging"

"What, no, I didn't-"

Sierra then erupted into laughter which made him realize that she was just kidding.

He booked a cab and on the way Sierra said "buses are way cheaper"

"I know but it's for the girl who's keeping me company"

Sierra looked at him with surprise and said, "I wouldn't do that if I were you"

"& That's why you are not me"

The rest of the way, they were silent, after about good twenty minutes, cab stopped by a building. He paid the driver then led her into the building, then took the elevator to the top floor and led her onto the roof of the building, then proceeded to sit on the edge. Sierra looked at the view, it was immaculate, they could see the pretty city lights, the busy roads, the little lights shining through the apartments windows. And who could forget the sky, clear, dark sky with a crescent moon shining through and the cold breeze ruffling through their hair, erasing every single worry they had for a little while.

"Now, do you understand what I was trying to explain?" Adrien broke the silence

"I do" Sierra said with a sigh "can I bring Jenny here sometime? She would love this"

"You don't need to ask, you are welcome anytime"

Adrien took a second to ponder then asked "you really love your sister like a child, don't you?"

"Yes I do" Sierra was now smiling at just the thought of Jenny laughing and playing

"You would want to see her successful, wouldn't you?"

Sierra took a long pause then added

"I would want to see her free"

"Free?" Adrien was a little surprised by her answer

"Yes, free from all the worries, free from all the relationships-even me. Because success can be bought at the expense of freedom but freedom can't be bought at the expense of success, or anything to be honest" Sierra was saying all this with a straight face while still gazing at the beautiful view and Adrien was falling for her more and more with each and every word that came out of her mouth. Even more so, he was he was curious about who taught her all these lessons? Or what event made her learn these the hard way? He didn't knew the answers to these questions, but what he did know that he was falling harder and harder for her.

After spending about good forty minutes, Adrien dropped her off at her house and then they parted their ways. Sierra went home, took a shower then opened the music channel on tv while eating dinner in the living room. After a while, she heard the door unlocked, it was Jolene, she saw her and said

"Wow, good thing you are Early. I want you to meet someone. Come in babe"

And there came, Daniel. He stood in the doorway, just as shocked as Sierra

"This is my boyfriend Daniel and Daniel, this is my daughter-"

"Sierra" Daniel interrupted her

"You know her?" Jolene was startled by this

"Yeah, she is a dancer at my club. My favorite one"

Jolene was now staring at Sierra with rage

"This is not the truth" Jolene said

And Sierra did not even bothered to hide this

"It is, I don't get it, why do you even care?"

"I think I should go now" Daniel slipped away to avoid the awkwardness.

"You work at a club?" Jolene was furious

"Yes I do, what's the big deal?" Sierra was all ready to fight

"Wow, you do something wrong and now you're asking me 'what's the deal'?"

"It's not Halloween yet, remind me why are you acting like a saint, again?"

"Yes I am not a saint but I am ready to change it, why are you walking on the wrong path?"

"Maybe my time to change is far away. But you never cared enough to ask where did I bring money from when your health got worse, why all of a sudden you are acting like a present mom?"

"Because you dance, entertain the old retarded men while you are seventeen. God damnit"

"Look, I have plenty of darts to poke at you too. But I won't because by the time I finish it, the sun will be greeting us. So it's better for both of us to shut our mouths and just go our ways. Thank you"

Sierra immediately left the conversation because what's the point of two sinners fighting on the same ground? Meanwhile Jenny was hearing all of this from her room and why Sierra hated their mother was still a mystery to be uncovered by her.
