A bigger family (Edited)

The car sped into the great compound. Amy almost pouted. Seriously, they were coming at Grandpa's? She crossed her hands and looked outside as the trees raced past them. Jeff on the driving seat saw this and smiled secretly.

She looked so cute, adorable, when this girl wasn't a lioness, she was amazing. "Trust me, it's something very important."

She grumbled. "Something important, you say!" she scoffed. "I don't care."

Jeff smile widened; he grabbed the steering wheel hard. He had to resist the temptation to pinch her cheeks and play with them. And those lips of hers, why was he finding them so alluring? When the car came to a stop in front of grandpa's mansion, he jumped out to go cool down, afraid he might lose himself if he waited for her. Amy alighted and watched him in wonder and confusion before she walked at the mansion. Some things were better ignored, Jeff was one of those things.

"Grandpa!" she yelled as she walked into the house as usual. "Oldie!" she yelled as she got into the living room not receiving an answer.

Her feet came to an abrupt stop when she realized that there were actually guests in the room with grandpa and Jason. Oh, okay. "Amy, when are you going to grow up?" grandpa chided playfully as he spread his arms to hug her.

Amy pouted and hugged him. "Why should I?" she complained in his arms.

Grandpa chuckled. "And where is that useless husband of yours?"

Amy snorted before she heard the masculine voice that made her heart skip a bit. "If you were interested in me, you could have asked before hugging her."

Grandpa cut the hug but didn't let go of Amy's hand. "Why should I, I love my granddaughter-in law and she, loves me too unlike someone I know."

Amy snuggled closer to grandpa forgetting that there were visitors until Jason coughed. They all turned to the guests and Jeff's eyes darkened.

"So, finally we've met Jeff and his wife Amy." An older woman spoke. "It was so funny that the whole world was aware yet the immediate family didn't even attend the wedding." One thing was clear, that the woman wasn't likable and Amy had already set her mind to hate her with an equal amount.

"Nice to meet you too Aunt Trina, trust me I was looking forward to ever seeing you in my life again." For the first time in a long time, Amy felt proud of Jeff, he could be sarcastic in a sexy way.

The so-called aunt took steps towards them with her very high heels carrying her slender frame, clicking on tmarbleled floor. Amy's eyes went to her skirt suit. She looked extravagant if not money-hungry and that was a huge turn-off for Amy.

The woman stopped in front of her and her blonde hair swayed with the breeze coming from the large open windows. From her posture, Amy could already tell her that she had intended to appear intimidating. Too bad, she was Amy, nothing shook her. That was the exception of Jeff's frightening side, and well, food extinction, she guessed. "So, you are Amy?"

Amy lifted her brows in agreement as she maintained the eye contact the woman was determined to make her lose. "Yeah, I am Amy."

The woman moved closer. "So, what even made you worthy to marry Jeff? As much as I know you're an illegitimate child," she spat out.

Amy clenched her fist, no, she unclenched them, there was no way going to react to this woman. "You better watch your words, dear aunt, this is my wife you are talking to," Jeff said in one commanding voice that echoed in the room, giving more confidence to Amy.

She turned to see Jeff glaring at the blonde woman. "I have never seen you defending any woman before." Her aunt said with a smug look as if the thought just pissed her off.

Jeff pocketed his hands and lifted his heels giving his body a smooth swing. "I have never married before, remember."

The woman's face looked haggard. "But Jeff, you were forced!"

What was with this woman, was she planning to marry him instead? Or maybe she was a friend of Stephanie's? Yes, that must be it, in fact, to think of it, their personalities were kind of similar. "I don't even know who told you that when I never mentioned it to anyone…"

"But the media…"

Jeff raised his hand and Amy swore under her breath that she had never seen him so mad. "Shut up, lady, any word against my wife and that is taken as if you're against me."

Amy fiddled with the hem of her T-shirt. It felt so weird being defended by someone. She had gotten used to being on her own, and now being defended by someone, someone she called close was something she found very foreign to her. "It's fine Jeff," she said touching his hand lightly.

Jeff took her hand and held it. "No, it's not fine…" she wasn't even listening, her mind had long frozen when he took her hand in his.
