Chapter 36: Ryan Kennedy Ravert (3):

The butler smiled sheepishly and apologised for the scene. The butler then gestured for us to open the door. Damian reached out his hand too, but I quickly held him back. I wish to know what Ryan would say. And I wasn't disappointed because soon I heard his voice shouting back, "To this day you still don't understand,".

"What do you mean? How dare you speak to your mother like that. She has been worried sick this whole week," a deep male voice shouted back. I'm guessing the male voice was the Marquis. How could his parents not understand? But I sadly do. I let go of Damian's hand and walked before him, opening the door. The door pushed open, and I noticed bright lights everywhere. The grand duke, the Marquis, Madam Ravert, Ryan and his siblings stood in front of us. "Marquis, aren't you at all curious about what Ryan meant?" I asked as soon as I entered. The grand duke noticed it was me who entered the room, he walked up to me and said, "Didn't I ask you to stay in the carriage? What are you doing here?". Before I could reply the grand duke looked at the butler who immediately left. I had noticed that there were no maids along the way and there wasn't a maid in the room either. The Ravert family was quite smart enough to make sure that no maids heard about their conversation. "I forgot to tell Ryan something," I muttered in reply to Uncle Robert. The grand duke raised his eyebrows but said nothing. I believe this conversation will continue when we get back into the carriage.

The marquis signed and asked me who I was. "Just a friend of Ryan," I replied earnestly looking at him in the eyes. "I don't mean any disrespect miss but what exactly do you mean when you said you understood what you said,". I walked up to Ryan and pulled him to sit down on the sofa next to me. I looked at Madam Ravert and muttered "How about you all sit down, calm yourself and listen to me tell a story?". "Yeah mother, here have some tea," a young girl muttered sweetly. This young girl must be Ryan's sister Linda Ruby Ravert also the person who would become Eveline's only lady friend. If I remember correctly this girl chooses to kill herself when she finds out that her lover cheated on her. To be honest she is really like Ryan, constantly ignored by her parents. I mean the Marquis and marquise dote the most on Aiden because he was a sick baby. The only person who truly cared for her chose to cheat on her. Okay, so technically the guy didn't cheat on her. It's just that he was forced to marry a princess from a different country to save the political crisis. That person is Camilla's brother. Prince Christopher. Both the prince and the princess end up having a miserable life. Well, I plan to change that. Starting from making sure there is no war.

Anyways. I watched as the marquise and marquis sat down together with their children. Ryan sat next to me with Uncle Robert. Damian was on the other side of me, and I was squished in the middle. Not sure I like that. We were all sitting opposite the Ravert family which makes us all look like outsiders. My face cringed at that thought. As everyone sat down, I gently coughed and began my story. Once upon a time...

Ryan:

You stuck up for me in front of my parents... Thank you.

I'm a little less mad now.

I look forward to seeing you on Sunday.
