This chapter is from Damian's POV:
When Camilla arrived in my room in the afternoon, I was a bit shocked and annoyed because she literally ditched me for that evil woman. But then again. Those two were really good friends even in my past life. Even when I exiled Camilla, Lexi was the only person who went to see her for the last time. None of her so-called families did. Thinking back I should have felt a bit bad for her when I witnessed that scene, back then I was only angry that I couldn't kill her.
I even wanted to kill Lexi however, I promised the grand duke that I wouldn't touch Lexi after his death. I am a man of my word. But Lexi had her own karma catching up to her because she died shortly after Camilla's exile, by assassination. It wasn't me though. Actually, I'm pretty curious about who killed her. Looks like I'll never know.
But will I have to endure all of these hardships for the second time? No, this time everything should be different right? After all, Camilla is not the dangerous and crazy woman yet... I'll be able to change her...
Seeing that she had decided to check up on me, I agreed to her request to go to the rose garden. I was a bit confused when she said she saw the grand duke but I brushed it off as her hallucinations. She must've been too tired from the trip. That must be it. Today has been quite a tiring day for her. Yet I'm still here with her. Maybe I should convince her to head back so she could have a quick nap before dinner.
However, I noticed she seemed a bit off so I asked to maids to follow more behind us to give us space. "Are you ok?" I whispered. She nodded her head. This is what I hate about her even in both her lives. If she ever encounters any problems she would never tell anybody. She is the sort of person I hate. I really wish she would tell me her problems. Gosh.
We continued walking and as soon as we reached the fields, I noticed she was having some struggles in walking. At first, I was laughing inwardly but I suddenly felt bad for her. Because I used to be shorter than her but I seemed to be growing a few centimetres. Maybe it was finally time to get out of this small body. Anyway, I remember Camilla would also get taller. She was almost a head shorter than me when we were both adults.
Because I was feeling bad, I decided to pick her up in a very unordinary way. She seemed a bit surprised and anxious at the same time. But she soon leaned onto me. When I felt her body temperature my face blushed thankfully she couldn't see this. I also noticed that the maids were following really closely probably to make sure Camilla didn't fall and hurt herself. My heart began to pound so fast but I convinced myself that it was probably because I was out of breath. That must be it. It's definitely it.
Not long later, we reached the clearing and I finally placed Camila back onto the ground. She soothed my aching soldiers as I proceeded to stretch my hands. Surprisingly when she touched my shoulder again, my heart beated faster and faster. What exactly was going on? Am I sick? I don't think so. My heart had a strange feeling when she removed her hands from my shoulders. Not gonna lie, she has a real knack for massaging people.
