Chapter 70: We've arrived :

Soon, we arrived at the gate of the palace city. The carriage stopped and Brandon opened the door. He hopped off the bus and handed me his hand. I smiled warmly at him and clutched his hand to help myself get off. Good Lord, I'm never gonna get used to that bumpy carriage ride.

I jumped out of the carriage and immediately I looked around. I noticed that there were two lines on the side of the carriage. These were ordinary people. They were all standing there watching me. Feelings of nervousness moved into my heart. However, at the next moment, the crowd started cheering and waving at me. I began to catch words that some shouted. They were very much welcoming me, happily.

I never read about this part of the novel. The novel only starts when Damian enters the Grand Duke Mansion. Yet this part wasn't mentioned in the novel.

I smiled happily and began to wave at everyone. I was waving the signature wave that monarchs usually do. The crowd seemed very happy that I was waving at them.

Brandon moved closer towards me and gestured for me to look ahead. Seeing the sight. I walked forwards happily until I was standing right in front of them. Them was my parents. They usually don't appear in public events, as the prime minister usually does, yet they decide to come out of the palace city to welcome me.

"Camilla, welcome home," Mother muttered as she immediately began to hug me. After a while, I pulled apart from her embrace and did a low curtsy. It was only etiquette to curtsy before the monarch. "Camilla, there is no need for that. We are all family," exclaimed Brandon as he quickly helped me up. I realised this might happen, but I still wanted to curtsy, just so many people would think that I was brought up learning etiquette. There were many people here. Most of them were commoners however there were also nobles. My position is different now. To save my life I must be the perfect and sweet Princess. I've to be good.

Father gently grabbed my arm and pulled me to stand next to him. There seemed to be a little standing platform near him. At this time the carriage has already moved inside the palace city.

Father stood onto the platform thing, adjusted the mic and began speaking. "Hello everyone, it's nice to see all of you guys again. Today I'm standing here to celebrate the reunion of my family. My long-lost daughter Camilla Rose Avery has finally been found. She was found in an orphanage that our family sponsors. Hence, I bring forth to you my lovely daughter," announced Father. Everyone quickly curtsied/bowed and chorused "Greetings Your Royal Highness,".

I look nervous seeing such a thing. Father quickly pushed me forward. Hence I was standing right in front of the platform next to the speakers. I looked at him with a bewildered face but Father encouraged me to say something.

"Um, hello everyone. It's quite nerve-racking to stand here and speak to all of you guys. It must be weird for all of you guys to see me here, as it's been so many years. I never thought I'd be able to finally meet with my family after so long. Hence, I've to thank Uncle Robert, for his efforts. Since I'm back I hope I can continue learning all sorts of things. Thank you," I muttered and quickly hurried off the platform.

I turned behind to look at my new family and smiled happily. I think in this life, I'm looking forward to spending time with my new family.

Standing behind my parents was my brother they all looked about the same. They had the same features as how the book described them. Prince Christopher was slightly darker than his older brother, as he spent every moment outside. Prince William looked weaker and paler than all of them. He was usually really sick and bedridden. I quickly curtsied towards them but Father immediately asked me not saying that we were family and there wasn't any need for such a thing. I nodded after serious consideration.

Since everything was already said and done Father gestured to the guards to open the gate to the Palace City for us to enter it. The door of the palace city finally opened up. I looked around and noticed that the place was extravagant.
