A date?

"I'm so sorry, Dee," Chloe brushed her hand through Deandra's red tresses, pausing midway to give her friend a worried glance. Deandra seem to have lost enough colour from her face since they got back from the gala.

"I'm fine, Chloe," Dee hissed, "you make it look like I lost someone."

"I know, right?" Chloe loomed over Deandra draped across her laps, looking miserable even if she lied being fine. Chloe could relate.

She felt the same way two weeks ago after finding out about her cheating fiancee. She didn't want to appear pathetic and had feigned a brave front, smiled at the camera and lied to her father and sibling that Theo was on a business trip abroad.

It wasn't easy at all losing someone you have grown to be fond of. Especially after a long time of being lonely. So she could understand.

"So, now you two totally broke off?" She bent to ask, pushing her new-acquired blond from her face.
