21 - Quizarmukae - Lesser god of fear and despair

Gerasmine pushed hard against the inflow of beasts as they pounced on her with a wave of anger she couldn't understand. From claws to pincers, to bone spikes, fists, and fangs. All came at her with a killing intent that shook even her spine as a deity holding off the hundreds of beasts. She could already feel the difference with Erizos absence.

Yet she could only curse as she weaved about through the creatures like a true warrior slamming her shield relentlessly into the wave of beasts. Her roots began to delay and break the momentum of the onslaught while she picked them off as best as she could. The crowd control effect of her roots and branches helped her greatly. If not she knew she would have been torn to shreds deity or not. Immortality after all was not assured for them.

She lashed out with a vine sprouting several spikes that eviscerated a line of them. Pulling back the vine shrunk on itself wounding together into a long sleek green rapier that was wierd due to the several spikes and thorns on it.

Leaping forward she turned and cleaved through what looked like an insect. It's chitin shattering as the blade cut through, but sticking midway. Not halting she tugged again letting the rapier scatter from within the insect and rip out leaving it in parts as she swing it out in a circle effectively shredding all that dared enter her holy space.

'Come you leeches' she screamed in her mind heaving as the vine snapped back to place rolling over her arm and reforming a gauntlet with the thorns pointed out. It was one deity against a crowd of bloodthirsty animals she knew she had to be ruthless.

'What are you doing Erizos? This wasn't part of the..' she leaped back as a huge python snapped its jaws where she once stood. Landing again she cursed loudly as she mentally berated the God.

Her thoughts didn't matter and her focus wasn't left alone as an explosion from behind halted her attacker. The fiery eyes of the abnormally huge python turned away from her to fix on something behind her.

Taking steps back she took a look just in time to watch something smash out of the fort and crash into the pathway of the village. She shuddered on taking a good look at it. Whatever this was made the mutated creatures look like sick animals. This one looked like a demon from another space.

A loud hiss behind her got her attention and she turned vines already squirming and ready to be unleashed only for a blur to shoot past. Stunned she looked to see the python barreling toward the thing that had just pulled itself off the ground from where it landed.

Her eyes moved to the fort where she saw it come from.

From within stepped out Erizos, his left arm had a rip on his sleeve, his eyes cold as his feet stepped on the burning ground the flames attempting to lick at his clothes. Sword in his right hand and left hand in his pocket he stopped to watch the scene in front of him.

His gaze moved to her before taking out his left hand and waving at her with a smile stretching out on his face.

Gerasmine accepted right there and then. This particular God wasn't a normal one. Turning she remembered where she was only to realize that all the animals were rushing passed her. Like a stream flowing around a stone. Not one came at her as all had their gazes fixed on the creature at the very center of the village.

There she watched another gruesome battle unfold. The earth beneath her feet rumbled before it moved to take her wide-eyed to the god who barely glanced her way all his focus on the all-out rumble in the village center.

The earth halted its shifting right by his side before new rock shot out carving out into a little makeshift throne that she was thrown into. Another larger earthen throne rose behind him but unlike hers, it encased itself in ice before he sat his gaze not bothered as he leaned the long sword on the side of the throne before resting back.

"How much did you say you knew about Mama Tay.?" he asked after a minute.

"Well..."

"There is, no Mama Tay." he turned to look at her both staring into the eyes of the other. One confused and the other trying to find the lie while seeking her reaction.

"Mama Tay has either been used longer than you existed or never existed at all" he dropped the bomb without care.

At this point, the villagers had gathered behind them some carrying the bodies of tbe husks and others spotting various injuries from the explosion that sent Quizarmukae flying. Even the hunters now stood amongst them as the rest told what happened within the fort.

Gerasmine watched as Erizos pointed forward to the battling demonic-looking fiend.

"That's your Mama Tay or as she likes to be properly addressed, Quizarmukae. The lesser god of despair and fear. Quite fitting if you ask me. " he muttered shrugging.

Then he proceeded to fill her in on everything he had deduced and then what had happened within the fort plus the transformation. Behind him, the villagers listened and collaborated to the story told till Gerasmine could only remain quite numb from the shock of the matter.

She barely knew how to feel. Pain, betrayal, or what? Staring at the lesser god that slaughtered tbe animals about she could only realize one thing tho.

Such a creature wouldn't care about her feelings, in fact, it never did.

"My wish still stands."Her voice came out firm and unwavering.

"Huh" Erizos uttered looking at her.

"I wanted you to kill Carion before for bringing danger to my village. The reason remains the same but the god this time is obviously different," Her eyes locked with a fierce gaze upon the battling lesser god.

She stood then and faced him making the god lean back while watching her suspiciously.

"Kill him and I'll swear fealty to you" she added going on her knees head bent.

"I chose a priestess for the same reason. Eager to save and protect".He smiled as his thoughts went to a dying girl lying on the floor of a camp while she uttered prayers.

" I have a better proposition for.you. I'll be killing this god. But you don't have to repay me for it". Erizos told her before looking back to the creature still fighting off the beasts. It was a total one sided slaughter with each animal getting shredded and mushed.

Gerasmine rose and stood to the side not bothering to sit on the throne. Erizos paid her no mind as he was bothered about something more important.

"That was quick" he muttered before sighing. "No".

[BLESSINGS WITHHELD]

[Don't Even Think Of Transmuting A Reward For Them. Never. Purely Transmuted Weapons Can Never Be Used By Humans. Even Demigods Have Trouble Wielding Them]

'Great way to burst an idea. So how do I go about this? And have there been any soul essence for them.'

[No. You Need To Get Someone Else To Do This. I Have Better Things To Handle.]

"Like what?" I yelled exasperated.

[Digging out knowledge. Something other gods would be envious of. ]

Although I wonder how hard it was to do that since he never told me things till I needed them or it was important I simply sighed with a reply.

"Fine. First, let's handle this matter then we worry about the rewards but you seriously have to assign the soul essence"

[Fine. But Bright Side Is You Don't Have To Give The Rewards Until The Main Quest Is Accomplished]

"True. But they'll. need some help along the way". My eyes went over the scores of dead corpses strewn around.

"Tell. me I can forge materials from. all this?"

[Human Blacksmiths Could. Of Course, You Could Too.]

[Sometimes Dumb Sometimes Smart. Pick A Side Moron] The voice whispered to himself making me roll. my eyes.

[On another matter. You might want to get the divine points. The conversion rate is not straight forward]

"Oh. Thanks for the reminder"I said then sighing I stood up while picking up my long sword acting like I was bored. Gerasmine and the villagers looked at me as I rose and made a stretch.

" Time to end this Quizarmukae" I spoke loud enough so she and a few of the villagers could hear. Raising my sword till it pointed to the right horizontally I slashed out front to the left .

[WIND SLASH]

The familiar blade of compressed air sliced through what was left of the attacking beasts dropping scores of animals dead the wind went on pass Quizarmukae who barely moved and then created a gash in the earth behind. Ignoring the divine exp flowing into me I took a step forward sword now pointed down.

Blue eyes locked with white ones as one god ignored the exp notifications he got while the other god snarled in annoyance at the puny one he felt acting mighty. The ground beneath Erizos left feet cracked first, from there spider web like split formed moving to the point where his second leg stood which also instantly cracked.

Pieces of rock and sand hovered a few inches of the floor as both feet pressed the ground with strength. A smile stretched on his face as he showed off a confidence while gus mind screamed for caution.

BOOM!

Both disappeared from their standing points milliseconds apart scattering the floor where they left. Pouring all points of agility into his movement as he blurred forward. before appearing in the center of the village sword and claw clashing.

A shockwave blasted off in all directions threatening to drown all on it's path.
