The difference was clear. The priests were the first in ranks which made them the most powerful, next were the paladins with the high paladin as the general of sorts.

The others would be chosen as well, but after that, the rest of the people would only have normal classes.

The priests had classes and abilities which went together. Their abilities were improved by their classes. Then there were the skills which they had to learn or make on their own.

The high paladin was the only one among the paladins who would have the wings marking her out. It didn't make her any more powerful than the priests as long as they didn't slack.

The paladins next were wingless only having the affinity to light and fire. They would be the human's major force. The rest of the humans could then work on getting their classes and seeing what they got.

The last was the saint or saintess. The strongest of them all. I wanted to make her more of a priestess but deciding to put her as a human symbol of my power work worked better for me.

Plus with her ability that if trained well could take on a demigod and Baroes the White hopper Neast the. humans could survive long enough for my backup plan.

Looking at Raina then her mother who seemed stunned her hand over her mouth as she stared at the wings on her daughter's back I finally turned to Aegefon.

Gesturing him to the corner I spilled the rest of the beams on the remaining priests and priestesses. Warning him about choosing a class and getting his skills finally I looked to the girl.

"Old man here will train you,"I told Raina while kneeling to smile at her.

"Your mother and the others will need you to defend them when the time comes. Like the priests and saints whom you'll soon meet you'll have to get stronger and better for everyone. Can you do that for them?"

Raina looked sheepishly at me them her mother before starting up at a smiling Aegefon. Nodding her little head at me I then smiled before looking at Aegefon.

"Go easy on her Aegefon. Train her well. I'll give you only access to her system must for observation and only that. She had to choose what skills to train and what not. " I looked back at her and hatred the now gold hair of her head.

"Aegefon. There is a village west of here. Beneath Mount Carion. I will be sending some of its people from there here. Get the word out throughout the desolation but also be careful. Let the humans get stronger and better here."

Turning I made to live. Then remembering something I stopped.

"The one who bears the crown will lead you all. Remember that. Also, Aegefon there is something you should see"

The old man's head felt like bursting, so much had happened and was happening in such a short time and he felt like it was all a dream. Yet he watched himself enter a spatial tear and felt the cold deep into it.his body. He watched his feet step out and into the forest around him.

Then he saw it and his dreams shattered. It stood there as tall as a horse. Its eyes were a glowing gold light, its horns terrifying yet regal, it carried itself with a pride and elegance befitting royalty, and kings.

Strutting forward it nuzzled into. the man's arms before looking at him while. he too stared back.

"Aegefon, meet Baroes guardian of the Desolation of Anges. With the priests gone and the high paladin going into training he will be the one keeping everything safe. Even when they return he will still be here. Think of him as a last resort.

But don't be complacent and don't tell. the rest. Only those you trust should know. Let the humans work for their strength. "

Erizos looked to the West silently and then muttered.

"You do realize the war you fear will come once this gets out. You can't hide forever while you grow. "

Aegefon's daze vanished instantly before he nodded.

"I already figured that much once you started blessing everyone. You know it's inevitable and I do too. Before I would have shunned it. But now, if you help us then maybe we have a chance.

"

"And If you were to lose this war. Remember I am a god. I can't be killed. you though can".

" My death is inconsequential, I'm an old man. If I die then so be it. But you have to keep your word, win or lose protect what's left of us". Aegefon demanded.

Erizos shrugged then nodded.

"I promise that. "

Aegefon nodded feeling relieved. Gods, after all, were proud beings that kept to their words so he was assured that this one would keep his promise. Looking. g to the Whitehopper once more he failed to note the gold bead disappearing into his back.

A rune shone on his back with a symbol of an eye within a circling matrix of other eyes then vanished as fast as it had come.

[You are getting sentimental]

'It had to be done.' That was all Erizos replied to the voice.

[You've down enough. For you, this is the best you can achieve here. Humans strive better when they grow with their hands.]

"I know" he muttered silently still looking at the midday sun before he turned to Aegefon again.

"Baroes has a farming effect and fertility effect too. So you might want to make good use of that. * coughs* just saying". he looked away instantly.

Aegefon though chuckled realizing how awkward the god was. He was almost like a, wait, Aegefon's head shot up then looked to Erizo.

" How did you become a god.?"He asked. He noted the freezing of the man's face and then watched him a turn to look at him. There was an emotion in his eyes before he sighed.

"I died."He replied without looking away.

" I'm guessing you were a child. Teenager perhaps"Aegefon added.

"What gave me away? My looks." Erizos mocked since he thought the old man assumed this was how he looked when he died.

"No. I don't know much about becoming a god. But I do know we owe our thanks to a god the age of a child. Where the older gods abandoned us a child god came, it's quite unexpected. I don't know for the others yet, but I Aegefon Grumdull am grateful".

" You don't even know what will happen. My actions could cause your deaths."Erizos argued feeling that the gratefulness wasn't deserved.

"Someone would always say. The thought counts not the success or the action itself."Aegefon nodded smiling.

Erizos stared for a while before he sighed then smiled back and turning he began walking away.

" When I was human. My name wasn't what I'm called now. It was something else. I didn't amount to much then, now I feel like I still don't, but. From here I will make my new name amount to something." he made a fist with a determined expression.

"See you soon Aegefon. I'll be watching from afar."A tear appeared again as the young god walked into it his words sounding off and distorted as he disappeared into the space and the tear vanished.

Aegefon stood frozen staring at the spot before Barnes at his side bumped him with his neck.

" Hey, big guy. Now it's up to us eh? Funny, I was gonna cut him in half or die trying that first night just three days ago. But now look at me, feeling like I can't and shouldn't disappoint him. Weird huh. ?"

The whitehopper just bayed as if in agreement before it turned and trotted off to the right at a slow pace. Aegefon looked up and smiled softly.

'Wonder what the future brings.'
