Side Chapter - 111 - Happy Endings are underrated 2

"Together?"

The boy was obviously shocked at this. Moira loved battling on her own always seeking to test the strength of all her foes. At the same time, he got serious. Her asking for his cooperation showed how much trouble the Lion was.

The ground quaked as the Lion moved crossing the distance in a flash. It was there and then it was here.

"Fast"

"Fast"

The two exclaimed as one but none reacted as the Lion's paw descended with rage on them.

'It finally ended.'

'After all that struggle'.

Both their thoughts were the same and no one would blame them. The Lion was just too strong. The shadow enlarged and finally, the paw struck.

Boom!!!!

A bright explosion of fire spread from the point of impact. Kendor sitting on his butt looked wide-eyed, Carla still kneeling beside Sanda trembled as panic rushed through her.

"Please Great one. Please. " Her lips trembled as she pushed herself off the ground eager to rush forward.

A palm landed on her shoulder freezing her in her steps not because of any strength in it but due to what its owner said next.

"Look".

Only now did she realize that the flames of the impact had faded away almost nonexistent. The only evidence of their existence being the scorched floor. But that was by the way. What had everyone's enraptured focus was the huge animal that stood in front of the Lion.

Towering at a good eight feet, still smaller than the Lion was a Whitehopper. Yet it was no ordinary beast. It stood proudly on all fours its horns holding up the paw of the Hellzmane Lion.

Beneath it, the ground was normal which showed that stopping the paw had affected it in no way. Its eyes burned with a white and golden radiance, it gave off an aura that tugged at a familiar memory. Carla didn't need to ask to know that this beast was touched by the very one that granted her and the others their abilities.

But it was more she could feel even more from it. Almost like her blood was boiling and like her ability was screaming due to its presence. Like the system was in agreement several dings resounded in her head.

Not just her but everyone with a system whether class or ability could feel it and see it.

Carla ignoring all the information on her system focused right on the event happening. Baroes now in some weird way had the Hellzmane Lion suppressed without touching it. The creature was constantly edging back with snarls as it avoided engaging the large Whitehopper.

Her eyes went to its surroundings before finding what she sought and a sigh of relief escaped her. There kneeling with exhausted expressions were Moira and Humda.

The attack from Baroes was instantaneous catching everyone's eye as all they saw was the ground split in a second before the Lion dropped in. Yet it never completely fell in as the ground sealed effectively separating it from its lower part.

A weird scene transpired next with the Neast stopping next to the corpse just as a thread of red and blue energy went into it. For a minute its spiraling horns caught ablaze before vanishing the next moment, its eyes also flaring with a red before vanishing too.

It was over. All around the remaining animals who had been frozen in shock at the battle of the Hellzmane Lion suddenly turned tail and fled. Yet how would humans let such an opportunity by?

From behind raced in a few if not more people, about a hundred or so all wielding weapons of different degrees. These humans were faster and stronger than her camp members as they dashed at the monsters eager for some reason to end them.

Yet Carla was barely attentive to all this as she fell into her sister's arms hugging her tight. The fear of having lost her was still fresh in her mind.

An hour later everything was done. Baroes stood right where it killed the Hellzmane Lion all through the process of the humans slaughtering whatever beast didn't manage to get away.

Only when everyone was gathered did it step forward. Like a prideful noble it walked head high as it stepped right up to the five well four. Sanda was still out of commission.

Then to their bewilderment in front of them appeared five pieces of red material. It took a few seconds for them to realize what it was. Yet it was actually their system that read out it's name. Depending on who saw it a different format was written. After all for the trio it was an evolution requirement to survive. Foe the duo it was a simple quest.

⅕ Hellzmane Lion Heart

The pieces dissolved and flowed like streams into their bodies, even an unconscious Sanda.

While everyone got the same prompts for the four it was a bit different as an additional question propped up.

PROCEED WITH EVOLUTION? - (YES/NO )

The system asking this while assimilating the heart meant it had to be beneficial right?. With this though all affirmed the evolution.

Pain then darkness assaulted them as the got knocked out. only Moira standing looked to them worriedly at first before realizing ehat might have happened calmed down.

As the humans carried the unconscious four and headed out, while also helping her camp members to leave the boundary and wade into the streams separating the Desolate path from the Forest her eyes locked on a middle-aged man who looked straight at her with a kind but strong eyes. To his side stood a young girl with white wings growing out her back.

'Wings just like those he had.' a faint smile crossed her face. Her feet carried her straight to the man who also made his way to her.

Right as she halted and made to speak a ding sounded out in her head and her system popped open.

Looking up from her record she realized that she was out of the Hells and Paradise Field, standing straight in the river that ran within the Desolate Forest.

"I made it " She muttered. "We all did". Shutting her eyes she raised her face to the dark skies and smiled. "Happy endings are underrated.".

Yet she knew, it was dar from over. This was the end of a chapter and the opening for a new one. She'd always pondered why Erizos simply hadn't plopped her here. But thinking back she figured. "I wouldn't have gotten stronger without my adventures".

Smirking she shook her head and refocused to the old man and girl. She had a lot to do.

Behind her Baroes made a snort then like a mist the Neast faded away. Where he stood a flower sprouted and bloomed instantly.

Within the Desolate Path the ground trembled and shook , the walls vibrating for a while before everything settled. Far into the ground covered by lava and molten magma an eye opened revealing a vertical reptilian slit within it.
