Chapter - 13 - Underestimated her

"Okay, he just wants to see his grandson but why do you look so anxious?" Dr.G asked Victor and casually walked towards the reception. Gianna checked the patient's chart on the monitor calmly waiting for Victor's reply. "Have you checked the IV drip of the patient in bed no:06?" asked Gianna looking at the head nurse. "Yes Dr.G. We also gave him the medications at the prescribed intervals." replied the head nurse. Victor and Zane looked at each other with surprise seeing how composed Dr.G was. 'As expected from the Goddess of Ignorance' Ralph thought, looking at Gianna's calm actions from the side.

Gianna looked at her watch and then at Victor, completely ignoring Mr.Ellerbrock and asked, "Do you want me to repeat the question, VICTOR?" The way she emphasised his name brought chills down Victor's spine. He no longer feared anyone as Dr.G was beside him so, Victor decided to tell everything to Dr.G. "As you instructed us not to permit anyone inside the ward without your permission, we didn't allow Mr.Ellerbrock inside. As we couldn't reach you for so long, he grew impatient and yelled at us to bring you immediately. That's when Dr.Zane came and asked him to wait until you come or he can leave and drop by later but Mr.Ellerbrock insisted on waiting." Victor reported everything in detail to Dr.G.

Meanwhile, Mr.Ellerbrock thought, 'Isn't she a woman? She should have been terrified but why is she so calm? The male doctor as a man was intimidated but she….she is really daring.' while observing the scene occurring before him. Gianna turned slowly towards Mr.Ellerbrock with narrowed eyes, and thought 'Only I can bully them! How dare he bully my residents?!' Mr.Ellerbrock noticed her narrowed eyes and felt the domineering aura she was giving off.

"Hello Mr.Ellerbrock." said Dr.G with no expression on her face and continued, "I am Dr.Gianna who is in charge of the patient who you claim to be your grandson. The patient is still unconscious but you can go and see him." The doctors and Mr.Ellerbrock didn't expect to hear her say that. 'Have I lost my touch of judgement along with aging? I felt her aura but it seems she is good at putting on a show.' He chuckled and looked at her with displeasure.

Mr.Ellerbrock took a step towards the ICU but was stopped unexpectedly by Dr.Gianna and he looked at her questioningly. Dr.G understood what was the question in his mind and smirked at him. The assistant immediately stepped forward and asked, "Dr.Gianna didn't you just say that we could go and see him?" Gianna looked at the assistant and said with a sarcastic smile, "Yes I did say that, but did I say when?"

'Woah ! The Goddess of Sarcasm has finally taken over!! Would I be able to see all her avatars before I die?' Zane thought while smiling brightly. 'That's our Dr.G, you douchebags!!' thought Victor and Ralph. Mr.Ellerbrock let out a small chuckle and his assistant was amused by his reaction. Normally he would have thrown her out of the building but instead he was smiling! 'I indeed didn't lose my touch nor am I old. I was right about this girl,' Mr.Ellerbrock thought and laughed in his mind.

"What do you mean, Dr.Gianna? questioned the assistant again. "The patient's life was in danger, that too, twice and we cannot let that happen again." Gianna paused and looked straight at Mr.Ellerbrock and said, "First, provide us with a legal proof to prove that the patient inside is indeed your grandson and also provide the details of the other man who came with your grandson." Gianna then turned and walked towards the monitor to check the surgery schedules. All were baffled by her response and it took a few seconds for the assistant to come back to his senses. He excused himself from Mr.Ellerbrock and went to arrange the proofs immediately. He thought to himself while walking away 'Who carries a family registration copy with them? She is really an unreasonable woman!'

"What do you mean by his life being in danger twice? '' asked Mr.Ellerbrock in a slightly raised voice, looking at the floor. Hearing the question, the assistant's steps abruptly came to a stop and looked back to know what actually happened last night. Everyone thought Dr.G would respond to his question but she clearly had no intention in explaining it. "Why was he in danger twice?" asked Mr.Ellerbrock once again looking at Dr.G's back. Before the situation could go out of hand, Dr.Zane explained to him what had happened the previous night.

'She rescued my grandson both times?!! I had clearly underestimated her,' thought Mr.Ellerbrock before taking a good look at her once again. The assistant immediately went out to arrange for the legal proof and also to obtain the CCTV footage of last night from the security room. Mr.Ellerbrock was sitting in the waiting lounge lost in his thoughts when he received a video file from his assistant. He opened the file to play the video. The video showed how his grandson reached the hospital with his personal bodyguard and also how Dr.Gianna fought back the gang who tried to kill his grandson. He couldn't believe what he saw in the video. He never would have thought in his wildest dreams that the pretty woman in front of him could actually fight 'the real fight'. He grew curious about Dr.Gianna and thought to do a background check on her once his grandson's matter was settled.

Even though Gianna was aware of what was happening around her, she didn't bother to take part in it. She later noticed Zane was still standing with Victor and Ralph so, she asked without turning around, "Is there anything missing in the charts again, Dr.Zane?" Her question was like a bucket of cold water splashed on him. 'Am I witnessing the 'Goddess of Grudge'? Should I be worried or happy?' thought Zane. He walked towards her and replied, "No, not at all Dr.G. I came to check for any signs of infection around the stab wound of the patient inside."

"So, are you waiting for the patient to come out, for you to check on him?" Gianna asked Zane haughtily.
