Gianna, Victor, and Tom distributed the dinner to the staff stations and returned to the department room to have their dinner. "Thank you, Dr. G!" shouted the team in unison before digging in. "What about me?" asked Zane standing at the door. "How can we exclude you from the party, Dr. Zane? Come and join us!" said Gianna with a smile. Zane congratulated her for the promotion and dug in!
The team soon completed their dinner and leaned lazily in their seats. "All have a good sleep and assemble in the room tomorrow at 7 am sharp. No excuses for the latecomers!" said Gianna in a serious tone and left the room with Dr. Zane.
"Do you know the real reason for Dr. Jason's resignation?" asked Zane. Gianna shook her head and said, "I was told that he had some unexpected personal problems." "I don't believe that bullshit! The higher-ups are definitely hiding something!" Gianna shrugged her shoulders and said, "Even if they are hiding something, I have a lot on my plate at present and no time to bother about the real reason." "In a way, I am happy that the psychopath has left us!" said Zane and chuckled.
Gianna reached her office and started to look through the boxes. "One would turn into a real psychopath with so much workload," mumbled Gianna. Ring ring… Gianna looked at the clock and was surprised by the name on the phone display. She attended the call immediately and said, "Hello." No one responded from the other side. Gianna said hello once again.
"I am scared, G!" said a feeble voice. "What happened?!" asked Gianna with concern. "Tomorrow is my selection process. What if I fail? Dad's reputation will be at stake!" said Gian in a low voice.
Gianna smiled and said, "If you pass, it's great, but if you fail, it's even better because dad will use his connections to select you. My only advice is don't try hard dad will look after it!" "I don't want him to use any under methods for my sake, and I am sure he would never do that!" said Gian in a determined tone.
"Then there is only one solution. Take good rest and pass the selection process. There is nothing my Spachi cannot do!" Gian chuckled and asked, "I miss you. When are you coming home?" "I will come on the day when you least expect!" Gian talked for a few more minutes and hung up the call.
"He has never failed in anything he does, and why is he panicking about a mere selection process? How tough can it be?!" mumbled Gianna as she switched her computer off.
Her phone rang once again, and the call was from Alice. "Yes." "Dr. G! There is something wrong with Mr. Alexander. Please hurry up!" panicked Alice through the phone. Gianna didn't waste a second and sprinted towards his room and swung open the door.
*BLAST*
Gianna stood there in shock when she saw confetti flying all around her! "CONGRATULATIONS!!!!" shouted a large group of staff, along with Zane, Alexi, and Julia. Gianna stood there at a loss for words and swept a glance at everyone. "We are all dead!" exclaimed Zane with an awkward smile. "Are you all gone crazy? How can you joke about a situation like this?" asked Gianna.
"G! It's just a way of showing our love and gratitude to you! Please smile!" said Alexi and signaled Peter. Gianna smiled and walked towards the bed. Mr. Peter pulled a cart with the cake in front of Gianna and said, "Congratulations, Dr. Gianna. The cake is a congratulatory gift from Mr. Ellerbrock." "Please convey my thanks!" said Gianna with a smile. "Let's cut the cake!" shouted Alexi.
After some time, most of the staff left to continue their work after having a great time. "Alice, I think you should join theatrics!" said Gianna with a stern look. "Dr. G! I couldn't refute Mr. Alexander's wish!" "Who planned this?" "Me!" said Alexi. "I voluntarily joined the party, but Dr. Zane was the one who gave the idea for bringing you here!" said Julia with a smile. Zane looked at Julia with widened eyes.
"Dr. Zane?" "No comment!" said Zane and moved away from her. "All of you will clean this room before going out," said Gianna and shut the door. "You all can go. We will clean this," said Mr. Peter. The residents were happy with Mr. Peter's offer, but the door suddenly opened, and everyone saw Dr. Gianna. "Thank you for the surprise. I am grateful to have you all in my life, but no one is leaving the room without cleaning, including you Mr. Peter!" said Gianna and left them behind. "How awesome is Dr. G! Even her appreciation is unique!" exclaimed Julia. Everyone chuckled and started to clean the room.
The next morning, the residents assembled in the department room early and waited for Dr. G. As the clock struck 7 am, the door opened, and Gianna entered the room. "Woah! She is right on time!" whispered John. "Good morning, Dr. G!" said residents in unison. "Good morning to everyone!" She placed a paper on the table and said, "Take a copy for each and strictly follow this schedule today. If there are any difficulties, notify me without holding back."
"Our department should never create a chance for others to criticize. Before our designated positions, we all are doctors. We are solely responsible for the things happening in our department. Victor and Tom, you are supposed to supervise everything and never dare to come to me with any kind of excuse. Got it?" Everyone nodded in response and got ready to do the rounds.
The patients and their guardians were hyped to hear about her promotion and didn't cease to congratulate her. "Dr. G is really good with the patients! Look how genuinely happy they are!" commented John. "She is! You can also see their happy faces vanish if they don't see Dr. G for one day!" said Ralph. "I feel a different vibe whenever I am around Dr. G!" said Liam.
Ralph chuckled and said, "She is a goddess, so you can never get used to it!"
