Chapter - 120 - Is he not a human?

Stanley had no ulterior motive for saying that, but after listening to his words, John became more nervous. John soon calmed himself and entered the room while Stanley prepared the surgery. Gianna glanced at the scan report and sighed in a low voice. "Why did he have a sudden cardiac arrest?" asked Gianna as she didn't find any bruises on the chest part.

"The emergency room reported that he was out in the cold, and it could be because of hypothermia," reported Dr. John. "Are you sure? I feel something is fishy." Gianna was in confusion, but in the end, she decided to trust Dr. Zane's ability.

'I will save you, kid, don't worry!' thought Gianna as she looked at the bruised face of the child.

"I will start the surgery now," said Gianna in a crisp voice. Everyone unconsciously straightened their backs, hearing her magnetic voice. "The present time is 2:55 pm, and the surgery has commenced," reported the attending nurse. John was nervous at the beginning, but as he remembered the tips provided by Stanley, he assisted her confidently.

John couldn't stop staring at Dr. G during the entire process. John was stunned by her calm nature and accurate movements. He watched with delight the sight of her fingers moving elegantly. John dared not make any mistake and assisted with utmost accuracy.

Meanwhile, in the Visconti base, "Yes, boss. Everything is taken care of, and we will board at midnight," replied Rick in a serious tone. "I got intel saying that the police have got the information about your arrival in Ascania, so make sure you come back safely," said the man on the other side of the line. "Don't worry, boss. Will see you tomorrow at home." The call hung up without any further conversation, but his face had a grave expression.

"Police? How did it get there? A mole?" mumbled Rick as he looked at the gun on the table. He immediately typed a coded message and sent it to an unknown number as a smirk appeared on his face. He then dialed a string of numbers as an image flashed through his mind, but the call didn't go through. He tried the number a few more times but to no avail. "What is she up to? Is she busy or ignoring my call? This damn woman will kill me someday!" mumbled Rick and quickly left his room with his black jacket.

BEEP BEEP BEEP…..

The entire room panicked as the heart monitor started to beep. "Dr. G, his heart rate is going down!" informed the nurse. Gianna continued with her process and asked without panicking, "How much percentage of anesthesia did you give him?" "60%" informed the anesthesiologist. 'There is no leakage, and why is the heart rate depleting?' thought Gianna. " Get me the latest scan," ordered Gianna.

As she looked at it in detail, she found a small clot in the mid-region of the brain. "Decrease the anesthesia to 50%." Gianna quickly started to relieve pressure through the mid-region of the brain. John and Stanley were confused and didn't know what Dr. G noticed in the scan.

TRING TRING...

Everyone in the operating room was holding their breath but was interrupted by the call from the operating room phone. The nurse attended and quickly informed Gianna that Dr. Zane was on the line and wanted to speak to her. The nurse put the phone on speaker mode as Gianna nodded. "Dr. G, the kid was probably forcibly fed with a high dosage of an unknown drug as the laboratory has failed to identify the drug. The intake of the drug had probably led to cardiac arrest."

Gianna stopped her movement quickly and closed her eyes for a second. "Quickly, decrease the anesthesia to 40%." Everyone held their breath and looked at the nurse. "The heart rate is slowly increasing, Dr. G," reported the nurse with a smile. "We have no time. We have to finish up the surgery soon," ordered Gianna looking at John and Stanley. "Gianna quickened her actions. When the monitor displayed what Gianna was doing, that is, when everyone understood that there was a clot in his brain.

As Gianna neared the clot, a vein near the clot region ruptured because of the pressure. Everything was sudden, and the blood sprayed on Stanley's face. Dr. Stanley quickly wiped away the blood on his face and assisted Dr. G to cease the leaking blood of the patient. A faint smile filled with pride appeared on Giann's face, and she quickly stitched up the ruptured vein.

Everyone let out a low sigh after seeing the condition stable and praised Dr. Stanley in their thoughts. On the other hand, Dr. John was so surprised to see the reaction of Dr. Stanley's as the blood sprayed on his face and sneaked a glance at him to only find a focused Stanley. 'How can he be so calm? Is he not a human?' thought Dr. John as he continued to assist Dr. G.

The clot was removed, and the surgery was completed. "The present time is 4:55 pm, and the surgery lasted for three hours," announced the attending nurse. Gianna instructed the head nurse about a few things before leaving the operating room.

She found a least-expected face smiling at her as soon as she stepped out of the operating room.
