"Ben and Alberto are sleeping like a pig on the excuse of jet lag. Look at how Capo is working out. Only God knows when he started to train," discussed many members among themselves. Rick completed his workout and observed others for some time before going to his quarters.
As he entered the quarters, he saw his father coming out and greeted him politely. "A good morning to my cold and heartless son!" Rick smirked and said, "Don't start in the early morning. Cut me some slack, Dad!"
"Third-eye containment is on the way. It would reach within fifteen days. The great Boss was elated by the sales in Ascania. So, he told you to take complete charge of the flow in Ascania and suggested you deal with only the two best powerful distributors. I chose Dark Council, and the great Boss was fine with it. The other distributor is completely your choice."
Rick smirked and asked, "Is the boss trying to make me go away for fear of me advancing to his position? or does he truly want me to deal with it?" "Don't talk nonsense, Rick. Don't ever spout any nonsense like that in front of anyone. I warn you! Do as he says," reprimanded Bernardi.
"Ahem. Also, once you reach Ascania, why don't you meet up with that daughter of Dawson?" asked Bernardi with a bright smile.
"Oh! So, was it all your planning to make me meet that woman?" asked Rick with narrowed eyes. Bernardi cleared his throat and said calmly, "I am straightforward and don't have to plan anything! I just gave my opinion, and it's your choice whether to accept it!"
Rick chuckled and left for his room. Bernardi heaved a huge sigh and walked out of the quarters as he mumbled, "That son of mine is very sharp. He sees through me! No wonder he is known as the devil."
Rick reached his room and quickly called Ben. As the line connected, "Freshen up within 15 minutes. We have to go out," said Rick and hung up the call. Ben was stunned by the order and laid back on the bed again, but as the commanding voice kept ringing in his ears, he quickly went to freshen up. Rick stopped at the main gate exactly in fifteen minutes, and Ben hopped in quickly. Ben didn't question anything as he knew where they both were going!
"Why does Capo give extra attention to Ben?" asked a member when he saw Ben hop into Capo's car. Armando heard the members discuss and couldn't ignore them. "He is still young and can be exploited easily by others. Capo has a reason for his every action, and you shouldn't question his actions or orders. Now enough with your useless talks and get back to work!" The members immediately scattered away to do their respective work.
Back in Ascania, the Visconti base was in chaos. Derrick couldn't believe what was happening around him. He never thought the police would capture him in his base! He sat in a corner in a squatting position along with his men. Derrick could only watch the police officers turning his base upside down. Rick was the only person in his mind who he could turn to for help, and he had to wait for a chance to make a call.
The team leader of the Narcotics Department, Ms. Nora Kings strode towards Derrick with a smug expression on her face. "What an honor to meet the great Mr. Derrick of the Visconti family!" Derrick smirked at her words and looked away.
"Where is the distributor list of the recent sales you did?" asked Nora. "I don't know what you are talking about." Nora smirked and said, "Fine. I will find it myself." Derrick scoffed at hearing her reply because he knew Rick would never leave a trace behind.
Nora was annoyed by his reaction and ordered his team to confiscate all possible evidence from the base. "Boss, how could they arrest us without evidence? On what basis are they doing this?" asked one of the men.
"They have a search warrant, and I have no idea about the evidence!" said Derrick in low spirits, as he never thought he would face a day like this in his entire life.
The police officers quickly collected all possible evidence and left for the police station with the Visconti men for further investigation. Nora and her team were on fire as they never expected such a hot cake would fall on their lap.
Nora stopped what she was doing and took a moment to look around. A faint smile appeared as she saw how happy her teammates were. Who would have thought that a team with less or no cases would land a large one like this?
Nora asked one of her teammates, "Did you track the source of the tip?" "No. We tried many ways to track it but to no avail. What made them choose our department?" Nora also had the same doubt in her mind from the beginning. Why did their team receive the tip?
The history of their team was not a secret to the world!
