My feelings

It was a lady.

lA smile broke out on my face. I was glad things were falling back in place, couldn't hide it. I wasted no time making a move to get off the bed but before I could hurry out the door, she got in my way.

"What do you think you're doing?"

Sarah asked me. I didn't know if to believe she was scared or pissed but I concluded she was a mixture of both with the countenance she wore which complemented her dark outfit. She had come to me in the flesh of the old woman just as she did in the very beginning.

I should have been terrified but I wasn't.

"What does it look like I'm doing?" I replied to her fearlessly.

"You cannot be here." She told me.

"Hah, does my presence scare you?" I scoffed.

"You are such a child with the gift of a god." She told me.

"And you believe yourself to be mature enough to own it. From all I have heard about you, you are a destroyer." I told her.

"She keeps feeding you with the lies you deserve to hear but it isn't my place to keep making you see the truth. You are not handling the powers properly." She said,

"And you wanna teach me? Or let me guess, you wish to manipulate me into thinking I am not good enough to possess it so I can offer it to you. Well, not happening. I just realised all I can do. I can do any and everything within the blink of an eye–" I said,

–" you are only being deceived." she assured me.

"Oh yeah? By who?" I asked sarcastically.

"It is normal for your feeble mind to believe otherwise but this isn't you using the powers, it's the powers using you. You must stop." She warned me.

"It's interesting to see you trying so hard to be manipulative all for your selfish ambition of ruling the realms. These powers are mine. My birthright. I own them." I told her.

"You–are just so foolish." She told me with dimmed eyes.

"The powers inside of you is not a thing or it but a who." She added.

These words she said sounded quite convincing and I had to listen.

"You think the powers we grow up with, the powers which distinguish us from everyone else just happen? Do you think we are that lucky? These powers choose their owners because they are the fallen extraordinary. Haven't you seen her in the mirror?" She said,

"Mirror" I repeated.

"Yes. Hasn't she tried communicating with you?" She asked me again.

"All I saw in the mirror was myself," I told her.

"She was only being sarcastic." She said to me.

"Really?" I asked with a raised brow.

"She showed you the only thing you see, the only person that matters in your life–You." She replied.

"Well f*ck all of that. I'm keeping my powers." I said to her face and made a move to head on out.

"You should reconsider." She said,

"The fallen one living inside of you is a woman–poor wounded soul seeking vengeance. She will be hard to tame. She is dangerous." She told me.

"Yeah, she is the one living inside of me, her soul or whatever but as long as it's my body, I get to call the shots or she gets out. " I said boldly and then turned the knob.

Heading out into the hallway,

"Ann?"

Unlucky me, I had bumped into the Doctor.

"Oh, doctor." I faked a smile.

"You shouldn't be out of your bed, why are you?" He questioned. "Are you trying to–"

–" run away? Oh no no, pss. Why would I ever? It's cosy in there, great food here. Why should I want to run away?" I said,

He gave me a disappointed look having held down the file he was looking through before the meeting.

"Then you definitely wouldn't mind going back in." He said,

"In? No. I mean – I am perfectly fine now, can't you see?" I said to him trying my hardest to be convincing. Turning around, and stretching my arms out as I did all for him to believe me because I was feeling cured.

"Yeah, the same thing I hear every day from patients only for them to later turn out dead." He told me bluntly.

"Oh." I voiced.

"Well, no one's dying. Okay, let's do it this way. Run another test for me. If negative, you let me go. If positive, I will stay, I swear on my Dad" I assured him.

I grinned at him while he shook his head from side to side.

And that was how I got discharged.

Yep, you guessed it, my next stop was definitely at Chris'.

Ding-dong.

I pressed the doorbell. I had changed into a lovely red dress and let my hair loose. My smell was intoxicating–my favourite perfume.

Back at the hospital, I was told that ever since I got admitted, he hadn't stopped coming. It melted my heart and after the whole craziness that's been playing out, I finally get to be with him again.

My heart kept pounding as I expected him at the door. His beautiful face I imagined would light up with glee. He would embrace me, kiss me with his soft tender lips and –

"Hello."

The door opened and it wasn't him. It was a lady.

"Excuse me, who are you?" I asked her, trying to be polite.

She was petite. Not his type but she was wearing his shirt. His favourite shirt and I could see her nipples point through them. She didn't even look like she was wearing undies.

"Oh, are you the maid?" She asked me.

"Sorry, Maid?"  I blinked.

"Who are you and where is Chris?" I asked her.

She looked at me funny as she kept chewing her gum annoyingly.

"I'm his girlfriend." She told me proudly.

It felt like lightning struck in my heart. Before I could utter my next word, I heard struggling footsteps approaching the door.

"Who is it?" I heard his voice.

Ann?" He asked, surprised, once he saw me.

Immediately he called out my name, my right hand demonstrated my feelings on his left cheek.
