Diagon Alley

The next morning couldn't have come slower for Nicholas. He was practically up the whole night excited for the new adventure he would have with his new professor at his new school. Soon as the sun came up, he washed up and changed quickly. Then, he went downstairs and waited for Ms. Mcgonagall to show up.

The doorbell rang and he practically threw himself at the door.

"My goodness!" Ms. Mcgonagall exclaimed when the door opened almost a second later once she rang it.

"Ms. Mcgonagall! You're finally here! Let's go to this magical place already!" Nicholas borderline screamed. With the thought of a new adventure on his mind, he couldn't wait any longer.

Ms. Mcgonagall chuckled and grabbed his shoulder in response. "Very well Nicholas, but be prepared for this. Please don't throw up on me once this is over."

"Wait what? What are you-" Nicholas questioned but before he could finish, Ms. Mcgonagall teleported them to an unknown location.

"Welcome to the Leaky Cauldron. This place is only seen to magical people and-" This time, before Ms. Mcgonagall could finish, Nicholas said "Sorry but excuse me for a second, I think I'm about to be sick!"

With that sentence he rushed inside the Leaky Cauldron with one hand covering his mouth and the other holding his stomach.

'I did warn him...I should probably make sure that is okay though.' With that thought, she headed inside but was surprised at the sight of Nicholas look around the place in wonder.

"Nicholas...I thought you were feeling sick? What happened?" Mcgonagall was confused because she thought that Nicholas was actually sick and was worried for him.

"Well...I was heading to the stalls because my stomach was doing flip-flops but as soon as I saw all these wizards and witches, the somersaults went away. Like magic!" Nicholas said cheekily.

"I know a place even better if you will follow me please." Mcgonagall told him as she started walking outside to where a wall is erected. Mcgonagall turned to smile at Nicholas but she saw a look of disappointment.

"I thought that this was going to be a better place? All I see is a brick wall and maybe a few trash cans. Oh! I see it!" While Nicholas said this Ms. Mcgonagall thought, 'Did he figure out the true meaning of this place?'

"There's a cat over there! I'm pretty sure you like cats so this must be the better place right?"

Ms. Mcgonagall deadpanned, 'Nevermind...I don't know what I was thinking." Mcgonagall then proceeded to walk up to the wall and tap certain parts of it with her wand. Once she finished tapping, the wall slowly started to part away from itself to reveal a marketplace bustling with witches and wizards.

She turned to see Nicholas' shocked face and smiled proudly, "Welcome to Diagon Alley. The first step in your wizarding path.

Nicholas' breath was taken away with the sheer amazing scene that was displayed before him. "Wow..." he muttered and started to take in everything with his eyes.

Mcgonagall sees the look in his and feels a bit of pride in how the magical community never fails to amaze the young witches and wizards. She then gathers herself and starts to lead the way to shops and places where Nicholas can get his school supplies.

Nicholas then asks, "Professor Mcgonagall, how would I be able to buy these supplies. From what I've seen, the people here are paying things in coins and the like, but I don't have any."

Mcgonagall was a bit surprised.

'So he can be a bit dense at times such as with the wall but notices these little details? Hmm...' Mcgonagall then replied, "Not too worry Nicholas, I already informed your parents about the supplies and told them about the money system here so they gave me muggle money so I converted it to our currency through a place called Gringotts."

With that sentence, Nicholas eased up more and started to look around erratically again trying to take in all the sights.

"Now why don't I get your school supplies while you go get your wand? I know getting your first wand is a wonderful experience that you should enjoy to the fullest." Mcgonall then gave some gold colored coins to Nicholas and explained that they were called galleons, while silver coins were called sickles, and the bronze coins were called knuts. There are 17 sickles in a galleon, and 29 knuts in a Sickle.

"The store you will obtain your wand is called Olivander's. Now, off you go Nicholas and let us meet again at the Leaky Cauldron." With that they went their separate ways and during the walk to the store Nicholas and a new feeling of excitement going through him.

He couldn't wait for his wand.
