Nicholas finally sees the store he's supposed to obtain his new wand and in turn walks faster in excitement. He opens the door and marvels at the sight of the wands that are stacked across the shelves of the whole store. The smell of wood and something unfamiliar wafts under his nose. Weirdly, he isn't that off-put of the smell.
"Hello Mr. Hunter, is it finally time for you to get your wand? I remember your father coming here when he was just a boy as well."
'Huh?! When did he get there? He just appeared out of nowhere.' Nicholas thought while he replied, "Um, did you mistaken me for someone else? Both my parents are muggles and my last name is Ward, not Hunter."
Mr. Ollivander looked surprised at this. He usually remembers all the faces that buys his wands and could usually guess their offspring. Maybe he was wrong this time? Mr. Ollivander wasn't too sure but decided to focus on Mr. Ward's future wand.
"Oh then my apologies Mr. Ward, I had presumed that you look familiar to a boy that bought a wand I had a long time ago. Should we now look for your wand?"
Nicholas' confusion was now replaced with newfound excitement of attaining his own wand. "Yes please!" he said a bit too excitedly.
"Before we start, I should inform you that every wand is different and that the wizard or witch never chooses the wand, but the wand chooses them instead. Now, which is your main arm?"
Nicholas then proceeded to lift his right hand and Mr. Ollivander started to inspect it and began to take measurements of Nicholas' body.
"Try this wand out...10 inch, cedar wood, and dragon heartstring. Flexible.." Mr. Ollivander said while bringing back multiple boxes which probably contained wands.
*BOOM*
Nicholas laughed sheepishly, "Probably not the right one for me huh?"
Mr. Ollivander just remained silent and handed him another wand.
"10 inch, ash wood, and phoenix feather. Rigid..." Ollivander said as he watched Nicholas closely as he waved the wand.
When Nicholas waved the wand, it looked like the northern lights had appeared in the shop. Nicholas' eyes shone in wonder, while Ollivander's eyes were a bit surprised on how beautiful the lights were. Quickly out of his surprise, Ollivander says, "Well I guess we have a winner here?"
Nicholas was still a bit silent of how amazing the experience was. The feeling that rose up within him was warm, but he only felt it a few times throughout his life. Now since he doesn't have to hide anything, he can enjoy this feeling for as long as he wants.
"That will be seven galleons Mr. Ward. I have a feeling you can do great things..."
Nicholas handed him the seven galleons but was curious as to where he should keep his wand.
"Mr. Ollivander, I was wondering for when I am at Hogwarts, do I just keep it in my robes? Or is there a better place for me to put it?"
In response to the question, Mr. Ollivander pulled out a wand holster and requested three galleons for it to be bought. Nicholas complied and since everything he needed was bought, he left the store after thanking Mr. Ollivander.
Nicholas opened the door in a rush again because he knew he spent a long time at the shop and Ms. Mcgonagall might be waiting. He started to run but before he could get far, he crashed into a brown-haired girl and they both went tumbling onto the ground.
"OUCH! What was that for?!!" the brown-haired girl practically yelled. Nicholas quickly got off the ground and started running for the Leaky Cauldron but quickly apologized to the girl.
"Sorry about that! I'm late for something so I'll see you later maybe!" the girl started to splutter, "Wha? THAT'S NOT A PROPER WAY TO APOLOGIZE TO SOMEONE! GET BACK HERE!"
People started to look at her because of the outburst. She blushed and headed inside shop to get away from the stares.
'I'll remember him...He looks my age so he will probably attend Hogwarts...I'll make him properly apologize the next time I see him!"
--Timeskip--
Nicholas finally made it to the Leaky Cauldron and sees Ms. Mcgonagall by herself. He runs up to her and asks, "Did you wait for a long time Ms. Mcgonagall? I thought I took a long time at the wand shop so I hurried over here just in case."
Ms. Mcgonagall look sort of touched at this action.
"No worries Nicholas. I just got here myself not too long ago. I have here all your things for Hogwarts. Now, I am warning you now that it is recommended that you study the books a bit before classes begin. It will be upmost helpful towards you and your studies during your time at Hogwarts. If everything is sorted, should we head back to your home?"
While Nicholas internally groaned at the mention of studying early for school, he knew he at least should do that since he was a muggleborn and therefore didn't have the experience that most kids his age had with magic.
"I understand Ms. Mcgonagall...Is there anyway that we don't use the same transportation we used to get here in the first place?" Nicholas really didn't want to use the same method of transportation again. He might really lose his lunch this time.
Ms. Mcgonagall chuckled and said, "Sorry Nicholas but for now, there is no other way."
Nicholas replied, "For now? WAIT! IF THERE'S SOME OTHER WAY THEN I-"
Instead of letting Nicholas finish his complaint, Ms. Mcgonagall quickly grabbed his shoulder and they both disappeared from sight with a pop.
