Lucius examined Mary's paralysed body, finding a clue to her weak body.

"Lucius, what are you doing?" Mary asked, curiously and weakly. "Are you trying to find the reason that I can't move?"

He nodded.

"I remember he stabbed me with one of his hair on my neck."

Lucius switched his gaze to her neck and gently pulled the hair out, trying not to hurt her.

After pulling out, Mary could feel her body slowly gaining back her strength. She tried lifting one of her fingers and it work pretty swiftly.

Then, she tried moving her arms. She used strength in her arms and it worked. She lifted her hands and waved them around while Lucius stared at her.

She moved her arms to either side of the iron bed and pushed, trying to sit up. Lucius understood what she wanted to do and helped her by holding one of her arms, supporting her.

Without a second, Mary managed to sit up. She swung her legs for a while and slid to the floor, wanting to walk. She slipped as her feeble feet touched the floor.

Luckily, Lucius was there to hold her before she hit the floor. He held both her hands and lifted her up. Mary looked at him, shocked. Then, she smiled.

"Thanks!" She said out in relief.

Mary felt one of Lucius's hands was covered in liquid. She looked down and noticed his right hand was drenched with blood. Mary instantly grabbed his wrist and looked at his palm.

"You're injured!" Mary said, worriedly.

Her feet were still wobbly and she lost her balance. She fell on Lucius's stomach, she could feel his warmth and his muscles.

Lucius glanced at Mary and to the bed. Unexpectedly, he placed both his hands under Mary's armpit and carried her to the iron bed, where Mary was lying paralysed before.

He placed Mary down on the bed and coiled up in front of her. Mary reached her hand out.

"Give me your hand." She spoke, demandingly.

He gave his fine hand to her.

"No, the other one." Mary said while pushing his hand away.

He stretched his bleeding hand to Mary and Mary grabbed his wrist, holding his hand closer to her for a better view.

"It is bleeding quite badly..." Mary mumbled under her breath. "What can I do?"

Lucius looked at her and smiled. Mary peeked up at him and noticed.

"Why are you smiling? Doesn't it hurt?"

He shook his head and took out his notebook using his unharmed hand. He wrote.

It doesn't hurt so bad, knowing that someone cares about me.

Mary blushed."Did you just hear what I said?"

He nodded.

Mary could feel her cheeks burning as she released Lucius's wounded hand. She turned her head away from him, embarrassed.

I forgot he has animal ears! His ears are so sensitive. He even heard everything I said even though I was whispering. It's so embarrassing...but he looks happy though.

Mary peeked at him again using her pupils, in the corner of her eyes. He was still smiling at her, cheerfully.

Mary suddenly remembered the man.

"He died, right? The man."

Lucius nodded.

Mary gazed behind Lucius and saw the man's lifeless body laying on the floor. As she was about to turn her sight back to Lucius, her eyes were caught on a small box at the man's crushed head, similar to the spider experiment lady's box.

"Lucius!A box!"

Lucius turned his head and body behind and noticed the tiny box. He slithered to the box and took it to Mary. He gave the box to Mary and she opened the box.

Inside was a piece of small paper similar to the lady's. Mary took the paper out and read the word on it.

"Pond next to the mansion...Is there a pond next to the mansion?"Mary asked, curiously.

Lucius shrugged and both of them stared at the paper.

"Do you want to try going out and find it?"

Lucius looked uncertain for a while and nodded. He wrote.

I hope the paper won't lie to us.

"Yeah, I hope so too."

He looked at Mary and wrote.

Do you want to leave now? Are your legs still weak?

Mary swung her legs a few times and said.

"I think it is fine now."

She jumped off the bed and landed on the floor. Her legs weren't limp anymore.

Lucius smiled and pointed to the door with his bleeding, blood-covered hand. Mary saw and shouted.

"Your hand! We need to get it healed first before leaving!"

Lucius stared at his hand, emotionlessly and licked it.

"Don't do that!"

Mary reached out and pushed his head away, separating his split tongue away from his hand. Lucius still with his tongue out, looked at Mary, confusedly.

Mary passed by him and went to the door. She opened the door and looked back at him, saying.

"Let's go to the medical room first."
