ASMA’S IDENTITY

Her diary was missing, it was as if her soul flew out of her body. Who did this? Who had the guts to open my bag and take my diary? What if someone had read the content and decides to mock her and show it to everyone? What if the class bullies got their hands on it?

Millions of thoughts traveled round Ella's minds, as she kept looking for the diary in her bag and her desk, she thought it could be with one of her friends, so she rushed out to go and look for them. The problem was, she didn't know the exact place they were.

Ella looked around for a while, but couldn't find them. She walked back to the classroom looking very frustrated and yess!!!!! All of her friends were back. She didn't say a word and went back to her school bag and boom!!!!! The diary was there again.

Someone is doing this, someone is playing mind games with me!!! But who could it be? Ella looks round the class with very annoyed but scared eyes.

"Azara are you okay?" Abdullah was the first to ask.

"Is there anything you need?" Darifa asks too.

Immediately, the first suspect was Asma, she was the only one keeping quiet. With all the attitude she has been pulling for a while, Ella could not help but think she was the culprit: If Asma went this far, that means she was seeking war. Ella looks at Asma who was keeping herself busy with a novel in her hands dreadfully. 'Let's see what you will do, now you already know my secret.' Ella says in her mind.

"Azara!!!" Abdullah calls loudly shaking Ella off her thoughts. "What is wrong with you?"

"Where did you guys go to?" Ella asks pretending everything was fine.

"I went to play soccer downstairs, Immediately you left."

Abdullah replies first, clearing himself. Now she has to just find out, who did it. Her strange friend? Or her new friend?

"Okay." Ella says and sat. "Asma, why aren't you saying anything since morning?"

Asma shivers as she heard her name, she acted as if she did something wrong, more than enough for Ella to continue suspect her. At this point, the love Ella felt for her was already turning into dislike.

"Yes, nothing I just feel a little weak." Asma replies and immediately returns her eyes to the novel she was reading.

"You have been acting strange of recent is everything okay?" Abdullah asks.

"Yes of course, I don't just feel too well." Asma replies with a smile.

As bad as Ella wants to address it, she just felt like she had to let it slide, maybe because she loves Asma so much even though they just met each not quite long. Of course, Ella would follow her mind. She decided not to ask of anything again and keep calm and cool.

They carried on with their normal school activities. The relationship between Darifa, Ella and Abdullah got stronger, Asma was always quiet, she talked when necessary. At some point, it was as if Darifa replaced Asma.

Ella got home and the first thing she did was to check her diary, her eyes ran through the book vividly as she opens it, she checked well, nothing was wrong with it, then down to the part where she asked if Asma was an angel or devil. There was an answer!!!!! someone else wrote an answer, and the answer was A VERY JEALOUS AND INSECURE ANGEL.

The answer wasn't Ella's problem, it was the fact that somebody had actually read the entire content. The person had already seen how her life was. She closes the diary in a rush and a small folded paper falls off from it.

At first, she was very reluctant to open it, but she summoned courage and opens it.

The writings had something to do with Asma.

"Asma is a very jealous type, she doesn't like to share friends and she gets lonely and feels insecure easily, and it takes a while for her to get close or accept people."

The small message was written in Italics, very obvious that the writer was trying to hide his or her handwriting.

After reading, Ella grinned from ear to ear. Was this why she didn't want me to get too close to Abdullah? Because he was the only friend she had, and the same happened when Darifa came to the picture. Discovering Asma's identity was now done…. But who wrote these things? Who had already gone through her diary?

She was worried but she had to do her normal routine, writing a summary of what happened earlier that day, with a date up on it. She went to bed with a thousand of things on her mind.

Another bright morning came, Ella and Asma ran into each other at the school gate, after knowing the type of person she was, all Ella had to do was give her the attention and time she wants. She did that and finally it works!!!!!!

Asma was smiling and happy all through the day, even with Darifa, she still seemed happy. It was as if things just came back to normal.

Jessica and Emerens were getting tired of trying to pick on Ella and her friends so they tried their luck with other students.

Things went on smoothly like that for a while, bonding, sharing cookies, eating together and visiting each other's houses. The four friends sure spent a lot of time together, but with all the times they spent, Ella never mentioned her family or even her diary. Darifa now understood the true definition of friendship and was forever thankful for that.
