LET’S CUT TIES

As Andrew drove to his house, he thought of what to do with his life now, Vivian really means a lot to him, and he was ready to risk it all for her. At first, he thought going fully into the estate management that he lied to Vivian about earlier, with her help as a estate management company manger, it would be very easy for him.

His first move should be renovating that building he bought from Vivian's company and leasing it out for rent just as planned before. But all these things can't work the way he plans.

If he is to start a new life, that means he had to get rid of a lot of things. So many things, and it won't be easy at all.

"Goddamnit!!!!" He cursed loudly. He was so deep in thought while driving and he just barely escaped an accident. "Watch it you idiot?" Andrew nags facing the victim, even when he knew the fault was his.

"You should watch it you fool!" The victim yells and zooms off.

Andrew continues driving, but slowly this time as he still had a lot to think of. His team members would be the first set of people to make things hard for him, if he told them he wasn't interested in being a killer anymore, they will kill him right in spot, even though he was the group leader. They would still do so, to avoid him blowing their cover in future.

Honestly, he would do the same too if someone in his group tried that with him. I mean, he has done it twice.

The first time, one of their team member suddenly got missing, they tried to reach him but all to no avail. When they finally got hold of him, he told them he didn't want to be a killer anymore. Andrew shot him dead immediately, right in front of his sister.

The second time, the team member didn't go missing, he just told them one day that he wanted to pull out. And again, Andrew shot him dead.

All these things, have happened to be their rules and regulations, and so the other boys would do the same to him if he dares try to pull out all of a sudden.

Jessie on the other hand, won't take it lightly. He was her favorite, and he enjoyed special privileges and gifts from her. Apart from the general money she payed to the group for the execution of the Smith's family, she gave him some extra money. Looking for Ella and killing was specially assigned to him.

Andrew got home and walks in still looking confused and frustrated, he sat on one of the couches and exhales. His phone rang and he thought it was Vivian but unfortunately it was Jessie.

It was a bit difficult for him to pick up the call, but later summoned the courage to do so. "Hey mama." He says warmly.

"Andrew, where are you?" Jessie asks worriedly.

"I am not in the country at the moment ma, I have a very good mission at hand. It might take a while before I return."

"I see." Jessie sighs. "What of Ella? Any news about her?"

"Not yet ma. I have assigned a lot of people to search for her. That girl would have been dead by now, even if she is alive, I am sure she dares not bother you." Andrew says hoping Jessie gets her mind if the poor girl.

"I hope so too, but don't stop searching, I don't want any troubles."

Andrew tightened his fist in disappointment and annoyance. "Yes ma'am."

"Talk to you later." Jessie says and hangs up.

He finally came to a conclusion. He would cut ties with everyone in Nigeria. Nobody would ever think he would be in Burundi anyways, but even by any chance if he got caught in the future, he plans to lie. "I would tell them that I got caught in one of my operations, and got jailed for that. Hence, I lost all contacts."

Quickly, he picked up a pen and wrote down Vivian's number. Afterwards, he calls her to tell her he was home. Immediately after the call, he destroys the cell phone and broke his SIM card.

That was the only way, he could live a good life with his love and protect Ella from Jessie.
