NEW ELLA

All Vivian said was true, at that point in time she was being so selfish. Ella cared about herself and pride alone, she didn't think about Vivian who abandoned everything and everyone all for her.

Again, she cursed and resents the people that killed her parents and grandparents. Her parents were cool and easygoing people, why would someone just kill them off like that?

She enters her bedroom with a lot of remorse and pain all over face, as she sat at the edge of her bed, she felt pains all over her body. As if the pains in her heart travelled all round her body.

For another moment, she thought of putting her necklace back on, she opens her drawer and pulls out a small pink ribbon box with her initials on it E S, carefully opens the box and her necklace shunned brightly. She wanted to put it back on but hesitated.

She really wanted to cry but the tears didn't come, her pains increased. Anytime she wants to cry and is unable to do so, it is always painful, as if something sharp pierced her heart.

Ella gently closes her box and kept it back in the drawer. Memories troops in again. She remembered the first time she had asked her dad why she always had to put the necklace on. She was about six years or so.

"Daddy, why do I always have to wear this necklace?"

"This was my first ever gift to you, so I want to see you wear it every time."

She shuts her eyes tightly in pains, hoping she would shed tears and make her feel better, but unfortunately it didn't work. The tears still didn't come.

A thirteen years old girl, has stopped crying due to loss of her loved ones, bully and different challenges and obstacles. She once again remembers how she always massages her mom's foot every night, and how she always stood by her mom in the kitchen to assist her and learn to cook.

She wants to take vengeance, but if she continues like this, it wouldn't be possible for her to even return to Nigeria or even take the vengeance. So she decides, to change her attitude and stay calm for the main time. She would turn a new leaf, and turn blind eye on things that doesn't concern her.

The summary of what happened that day was written into her diary and she turns of the lights, staring at the darkness for a while before going to sleep.

Vivian in her room, was broken and very sad. She didn't like the way she spoke to Ella earlier, but had to do it because that was the only way Ella could realize what she was doing was wrong.

The next morning came, and Ella starts off the day with a happy mood. She prepared noodles for Breakfast. As soon as she serves the meal, Vivian walks out of her room and was surprised to see that Ella still cooked that morning and was even in a very good mood.

"Good morning auntie." Ella greets with all smiles.

"Good morning dear, how was your night? Hope you slept well?"

"Yes, I did. Come and have a seat the noodles might get cold."

Vivian and Ella sat to enjoy their meal, without talking or discussing. Vivian looks at her warden again and whispers gently in her mind. "This young girl is a warrior, how did she manage to hide her pain?"

After the meal, Ella had to rush to school, the exams were still on. She plans to walk briskly to avoid contact with anyone that could annoy her, especially when she wants to pass the principal's office. But it wasn't successful, the principal called her just as she was about to hasten up her speed.

"Ella!" The principal calls loudly and moves close to her.

It wasn't easy for her to answer the call happily but she had to it. Ella gently turns to face the principal and fakes a smile. "Good morning ma, how was your night?"

Lola knew the smile wasn't real, but she had to play along. "My night was good, how about yours?"

"Mine was good too. Please have a wonderful day ahead.

Lola looks carefully at Ella's neck, and realizes her Diamond necklace wasn't there. "Where is your necklace?"

"I lost it yesterday, it seems to have dropped somewhere, I tried to look around for it but I couldn't find it."

At first she was surprised with the way she explained everything to her with a lot of calmness, but then later she thought it could be some sort of plan to deceive or distract her. "Okay, be careful next time."

"Yes ma." Ella nods with smiles.

Immediately, Ella continues her journey to her classroom, and it left Lola speechless.

"What's with her attitude this morning? Why is she acting like she is happy and pleased with me?" Lola asks no one in particular.

"This is the new Ella you would all see from now on, the all smiling and calm one." She whispers to herself as she continues her journey to the classroom.

She wasn't sure of how her friends would see her new attitude. Ella was known for always standing up for people, even those that she wasn't really familiar with. Another thing Ella was known to do is always expressing her feeling and thoughts about situations and issues. She could also be called blunt.

If people started noticing that she was already turning blind eye to certain things, it would seem very strange s as d difficult for them to accept.

She hopes in her mind that something bad or horrible doesn't happen that day. If anything bad happens, she might want to interfere, and if she does it would surely put her in some sort of trouble and might even blow her cover.
