INJECTION

Darifa stands by the door, patiently waiting for Linda and her father to return from where ever they went. "Why is it taking them so long to return?"She asks herself.

"Do you think this plan will walk out?" Shamim asks standing behind her and whispering to her ears. "They will rebel if they find out."

"Ella would rebel." Darifa says sternly still on a look out for those people she was expecting. "Just make sure you do it well, inject Paul with the sleeping pills and I will inject Linda with the Devil's breathe, I have the sound recorder here with me."

"There they are." Shamim announces pointing his finger to them. "Let's use the mask." The both of them pulls down the mask they had slightly above their head.

"One, two, three, let's go!" The both of them runs to Linda and her father then injected them with what they had planned earlier on.

Tied to a chair, Linda breathes uncomfortably and gasps for air. She looks up and tries who is standing before her, but can't see the person's face because of the mask. "Who are you?" She asks in her lowest tone.

"Your father killed the Smiths right?" Darifa asks while Shamim stays out on a look out.

"No." She shakes her head. "My mother did."

Darifa bends towards her. "Can you tell me how she killed her?"

"She sent a man, his name is Andrew, he killed all of them." She answers.

"Why did she kill them?" Darifa asks again.

"Because sh-" Linda tries to say something but she passes out.

"Damn!" Darifa exclaims bitterly.

"What is that?" Shamim asks from where he is standing.

"She is out already, lock that door and let's put her on the bed."

*********

"Where are you both coming from?" Asma asks wearing a worried look.

Shamim and Darifa gives no response, they carefully lock the door and sit side by side, facing the rest of the team.

"Is everything okay?" Ella asks too.

Darifa play's the recorder for all of them to hear the conversation she had with Linda before she passed out. "That was all we could get from her." She whispers sounding disappointed in herself.

"You already used the truth serum on her?!" Asma asks asks, more like a cool exclaim.

"That was a very terrible move, what if you both were caught on camera?" she rebels immediately.

"I won't be stupid enough to take such crazy risks." Darifa says boasting. "I made sure i searched everywhere to see if there were hidden cameras, before acting."

"What about your finger and foot prints?" She asks again.

Shamim shows them his palms and feet. "See, we were on gloves and socks."

"It was a clean work, there is no cause for alarm." Darifa assures Ella with a wink.

"You did a great job." Abdullah commends with smiles.

"You should have said that earlier." Shamim fumes.

"Now." Darifa says and claps her palms loudly just once to get the attention of everyone in the room. "We are sure of the fact that Paul had nothing to with it."

"Yes." Asma nods. "His wife did it by sending a man named Andrew."

At the mention of the name Andrew, Miss Smith's eyes widen. "Did you just say Andrew?" she asks sharply looking at her friend.

"Yes, just as mentioned in the voice recording."

"Darifa, please play it again. I need to hear something." She pleads and Darifa obeys. Ella listens to the voice recording carefully, until she hears the name Andrew again. "Pause it." She whispers holding a lot of pains in her voice.

"What is wrong with you?" Abdullah asks observing her closely.

"Is the man someone you know?" Darifa asks whispering.

"He mustn't be him, he shouldn't be him, Miss Vivian can't do this to me." Ella rants and shakes her head. "She can't do that."

"Calm down and tell us what the problem really is." Abdullah whispers to her ears.

Ella sniffles and breathes in and out heavily. "Since you all have read my diary, then I guess you should know that Vivian left me in this country with her boyfriend to another county. She had met him here, months after I fled to the country."

"So?" Abdullah asks as he can't seem to see any connections.

"He is from Nigeria, and his name was Andrew."

Asma opens her mouth in shock, Abdullah shook his head, Darifa and Shamim exchanges short glances in shock.

"If truly, that Andrew is the same as this one, then Miss Vivian was aware of what her boyfriend did." Darifa nods her head gently. "Things are beginning to get interesting."

Ella stands and inhales sharply. "Let's stop here."

"What nonsense are you talking about?" Shsmim asks with a bit of annoyance.

"I am a hundred and one percent sure that Vivian left me after finding out who her boyfriend was."

"Was that why you asked us to stop here?" Darifa asks.

"Don't you get it? The more we try to uncover the truth, the more I will continue to get hurt!" She whispers painfully.

"I disagree with that." Shamim opposes and stands facing his sister. "I believe the more we try to uncover the truth, the more we get closer to the truth. At least, we now know that Paul's wife was the one who initiated it all, and we already know why Vivian left you. Two different questions were answered."

"Vivian left me for the bastard who killed my parents!" she yell loudly and starts panting. "If she could betray me, then who amongst you won't do so?" she asks and looks at them consecutively. "Who will stand by me forever?"

"Rule number 1, do not let your emotions overrule you." The team leader cautions. "You both should have your seats." They obey without any utterances. "Ella, what is your problem? Why are you being so inconsiderate?"

"What are you talking about? Being inconsiderate you say?"

"We left everything behind us and choose to seek revenge with you, please, respect that." Darfa says sternly. "Compose yourself."

"Yiu ladies shouldn't be going this now." Abdullah whispers and faces Darifa. "What is the way forward?"

"We have to know the exact reason Jessie killed the Smiths. Without that, we can't do anything."

"Whay do you think we can do then? Inject her with the truth serum again?" asks Asma.

"For now, we can't." Darifa replies shaking her head.

"Then I guess we have to hold on for a while, isn't it?" Asma asks again.

"Yes." Darifa nods, and she hears a soft knock on the door. The entire room grows silent as a graveyard with everyone looking tensed. "Who is that?" she asks.

"It's the service." A feminine voice announces from outside and the entire team signs heavily.
