[DAY 48]
But Elly wasn't hurt in the slightest, on the contrary she never felt better and charged straight at the Stage 2 Undead with one hand on her sword and the other hand as a shield in front of her head.
"KRAAAA!"
The Stage 2 undead yelled and fired a new volley of fire projectiles which were again accepted by Elly's fists and just like before, Elly wasn't injured and made her way towards the Stage 2 as she emerged from the cloud of fog again.
Currently, Elly has her Souls energy used to envelop her body like a shield. The energy followed Elly's Will and enveloped itself completely around her, no physical attack is possible to penetrate this barrier.
However, Elly cannot keep this shield up indefinitely and therefore sprints towards the Undead as fast as she can. She wants to finish this fight as fast as possible.
However, the Stage 2 forestalls her when it sensed Ally's killing intention. It immediately turns and runs down the hallway to the end, where it blasts open a door with its fireballs.
"Boom!"
Did it and all the fighters in the room immediately saw towards the destroyed door, but before they could react further, the Stage 2 shot more projectiles while it kept running, killing one human after another in the process.
At the end, when Elly reached the entrance and stormed in, she found all the fighters burned and partially dead or dying.
But Elly didn't stop and kept running towards the Stage 2.
Since now, Elly only had her powers for a few days and isn't really aware of her possibilities yet, she doesn't even know that the powers come from her Soul.
What she knows is that when she really wants something, she bends her power to her desires and her ability does what she commands or envisions. The only problem is the excruciating pain she feels all around her body, after every time she uses her abilities too hard or for too long.
But right now, she wasn't giving a thought to the consequences she would receive if she used her abilities. But what Elly doesn't know is that her body can't stand the overdoses of her Soul for long.
It's like adding more and more water to a glass that's already full to the brim. Magically, the water still goes into the glass, but before you know it, the glass implodes and the water flows out.
If she continue to overtax her body, she will have significantly greater problems in the near future and will implode, just like the galss.
But because Elly knows nothing about it, she continues to use her abilities without losing any thought of stopping.
This is one of the biggest problems of humans with their affinity to overcome even the gods and nature. They lose track of their own limits and possibilities and in the end it is often too late to change anything on the damage already taken.
…
So Elly decided to use her abilities again to stop the Stage 2 undead in front of her, who is still killing fighters left and right while running.
She first imagined a wall in the way of the Stage 2, but it didn't materialize, only causing Elly some pain.
Elly then tried something easier, imagining her ability forming a rope and catching the Stage 2.
Her Soul obeyed Elly's will and formed into an invisible rope and shot towards the Stage 2 Undead Leg and when it arrived it captured both legs and the Stage 2 fell to the ground.
But before Elly could finish the Stage 2, it shot two more fireballs and hit Elly on her arm and chest. What Elly didn't think of when she commanded her soul to tie up the Stage 2 was that she was giving up her defenses to do so.
As a result, her entire left arm was burned and parts of her shoulder were still on fire. Meanwhile, her chest was also on fire and Elly was catapulted a few feet backwards.
Elly was badly injured and will most likely die in the next few minutes if the Stage 2 doesn't take care of her now.
She was lucky when it came to the Stage 2. As it was stopped from killing Elly by the remaining fighters in the room and instead it attacked the soldiers who were shooting at it.
Elly, on the other hand, cried out, but quickly focused on her wounds and imagined them healing.
Elly's soul followed her instructions and used her Soul's energy to close and regenerate Elly's wounds. The healing wasn't as quick as Neo's Regeneration Body Trait, but quick nonetheless, and after two minutes the flames and large wounds were already closed.
However, by now the Stage 2 has already killed all the other fighters in the room and made its way to Elly who was still injured and needed time to regenerate.
It walked closer and closer and a wide smile, showing the Stage 2's clawed teeth, spread across its lips.
It prepared to eat Elly alive as it has done many times with other humans already.
But as it jumped toward Elly, something suddenly hit it in mid-air and it was catapulted out the window and fell onto the street below.
The thing that hit the Stage 2 in mid-air was a bullet fired by Ninette who was standing at the end of the hall and just managed to stop Stage 2 from killing Elly.
Donatien was the first to run to Elly and stand in front of her as he entered the room.
Behind him came the woman with the two daggers, Ninette and Meram.
"Idiot why do you keep rushing forward alone, if it wasn't for me you would already be dead!" said Ninette after lowering her gun and looking at Elly's wounds.
Elly's wounds were mostly healed now, but some scars would probably remain anyway. Her Soul is not a regenerative ability and is still too weak. Elly just can't fully use the potential of her skills yet.
"What was that Undead? Could it shoot fireballs?" asked Meram, who took a closer look at the room.
Meram, before he and the others went to the 3rd floor, ordered the other three of his group to call in reinforcements on the 5th floor of the building and retake and man the 4th floor.
Every second that a post is unmanned is a gap in their defenses that the Horde could use to break through, so this order was very important.
After looking around the room, Meram looked out the window and found the now almost everyday view full of undead on the street.
He was looking for something in the Horde and found the Stage 2 Undead standing on an overturned truck, shooting fireballs. The Stage 2 just shot the wall and some of the built in wood started to burn.
"Oh no! Quickly we have to eliminate the Undead, Ninette shoot the tank of the truck. The rest of you go and get me explosives, grenades and machine guns and Elly you have to get up and tell the Camp that a special Undead is attacking the wall. They should at best send one of the tanks out." said Meram as he grabbed a sniper rifle and stood in one of the windows with Ninette.
"I scoff and you shoot" Meram said as he judged the distance and wind condition and then reported to Ninette.
Meanwhile Donatien and the girl with the two daggers already left, leaving only Elly behind who needs to catch her breath for a few seconds.
Ninette aligned herself accordingly and aimed at the oil tank of the truck on which the Stage 2 was standing.
"Bang!"
"BOOOOOOM!"
Hit! The truck blew up after Ninette hit the oil tank. But suddenly the Stage 2 came out of the burning wreck of the vehicle.
It was unharmed and was facing directly in the direction of the building and the floor Ninette was firing from.
"KKARAKKKKKKAAAA!"
Did it and the undead who were on the building or near the Stage 2 shouted all at once and all at once stormed the building and climbed on top of each other, getting to the top of the 2nd floor and slowly destroying the barricades.
The fighters on the building and on the wall were suddenly all in panic and started shooting at everything on the streets without aim.All of the undead started changing their targets, where they used to try to destroy the wall, they now attack the building instead.
The wall has only been able to last so long because most of the fighters are there. But towards the buildings so far, only few undead have been interested, so there were far fewer soldiers and defenses inside the building.
If the undead storm the building, they will quickly be able to circle the wall and then encounter the fighters in close combat. The camp commanders set up their defenses so they wouldn't have to put too much time and materials into building more walls, but now that seems like a huge gap in their defenses that could potentially cost all their lifes.
...
After a while the undead overran the first and second floors and were blocked on the third floor by barricades and fighters that were still there.
After a while, the undead on the first and second floor also jumped out of the windows behind the wall and attacked the fighters directly in close combat.
"It's all lost, they broke through." said Elly as she watched it all happen outside with Ninette and Meram.
"No, it's not too late yet, we must kill this Stage 2 as soon as possible, it somehow made the undead follow its command, if we manage to destroy it then..." said Meram , when he was suddenly interrupted by a loud noise.
"That's the tank! The commander must have noticed the undead charging through the defenses and send reinforcements!" said Ninette suddenly as she pointed her finger at an oncoming tank and a battalion of soldiers behind the tank.
The soldiers quickly advanced and began plugging the gaps in the defenses and killing the charging undead.
"We have to act fast Elly we will need you in this fight. Firstly, let's get the others and then evacuate them over the roof and then regroup outside. After that, we'll use the tank and Ellys help to eliminate the Stage 2." Meram said as he got up and left the room with the others behind him.
As the group ran through the hallway and arrived at the stairwell, they then saw the undead following and after destroying the furniture on their way up. At the stairwell there were also some soldiers shooting down and killing some undead but there were just too many and they couldn't take them all out. Donatien and the woman with the daggers were also there.
"To all fighters here, outside a division of new fighters and a tank have come to support us, we must evacuate the building as soon as possible and regroup inside the second defensive. For all this damage done is a special undead responsible. We must eliminate it at all costs, but for now we're evacuating, so make your way to the roof, I and Donatien stay behind and we give the evacuation time. Run up and warn everyone else!" said Meram as he drew his pistols and shot some undead on the stairs.
"But Meram, Donatien... I..." said Ninette when she was interrupted by Donatien.
"We're not going to die, little Ninette, so don't worry, we want to see our village and families again, don't we? As if we then allow ourselves to die in a place like this! hahaha" said Donatien petting through Ninette's hair.
"HEY! What are you doing... you…" Ninette said excitedly, when Donatien stroked her hair and only when Meram reminded her, they evacuated to the roof together with Elly and everyone else.
As a result, Elly and Ninette warned everyone on the floors above and they fled to the roof of the building, which had some cable cars attached down it.
The evacuation then proceeded without major problems and in the end around 7,000 fighters evacuated their posts, the rest already died on the floors while fighting off the undead to gain more time for the evacuation.
In the end only Ninette, Elly and the other group members of Hope, were left on the roof and they only left when Donatien and Meram arrived and they all together then evacuated the building which was already full of undead.
Donatien was slightly injured while defending Meram and his shield was destroyed, but he was alive and uninfected.
...
At the end, The soldiers gave up defending the wall and ended up retreating behind the second and final wall on the Southwest Front.
The defenses were significantly smaller and the area to defend was larger, but so far the defenses have held up.
The Hope group handed over their collected supplies and then went to sleep and get ready for tomorrow's battle against the Stage 2 undead who can shoot fireballs.
...
[DAY 49]
The group woke up after quite a bit of sleep and once again prepared themselves for another day in siege, but this time something was different.
The group was called to the Northeast Wall, the first time they had been under siege.
The group was immediately afraid that another part of the wall was breached, especially since to the northeast is the giant undead that could probably destroy the camp in a few minutes. So they decided to move out immediately.
But when they got to the wall to the northeast, they couldn't believe their eyes.
On the street that was previously filled with millions of undead now lay the corpse of the giant Stage 2 undead and on the monster's head sat Neo on a dark throne, with his sword in the monster's skull.
"Hello my three little pigs, did you miss me?" Neo said with a big smile as he greeted his little pigs, his voice sounding diabolical...
